Book signing in Minnesota!

I thought you might like to see some pictures from my book signing last weekend. My friend and fellow author (and a fabulous one too, not friend, but author, but she's also a fabulous friend. Well, I digress) took these pictures as I chatted with people and signed books. I met some WONDERFUL people!!!

First of all, I met a mother and daughter who are big fans of my books, Makayla and Uvonne (hope I spelled your names right!)  They were such nice people!!  Waving at them! Thank you so much for coming by!

Here's a picture of me signing books for them.

And here's a picture of me and Michelle Griep. I stayed with her and her family while I was in town. They were so nice to me! Michelle even got up to make me a hot breakfast two days in a row. I tell you, a girl could get spoiled. Michelle is also the author of a wonderful book entitled Gallimore--a time travel medieval story!
Here I am with my editor, Traci Depree, the lady who edits all of my books and finds all the little oppsies and makes everything all better! She's an awesome and fun lady, too!

Here I am trying to explain the plot of Surrender the Heart to a passing customer!
Here's Beverly, one of the workers in the store. She bought a copy of each of my books off their shelves! She was so super nice!

This is Reyna, who sometimes posts on my blog! She is a wonderful lady! Thanks, Reyna, for coming out to meet me!

And finally, just a shot of me signing my book for another customer. All in all, it was a fabulous trip. Minnesota is a gorgeous state. All green and lush with lots of lakes. The temperature was fairly mild although I'm told the winters are horrendous.  I ate too much, thanks to my friend, Michelle!  We not only had a huge lunch at someplace called Mimi's Cafe but she fed me homemade meatballs and mashed potatoes when we got home. Oh, and did I mention the bowl of popcorn coated with garlic butter while we watched a movie!!

Anyway, I met some wonderful people and got to share about my book and about how the Lord has blessed me with a exciting destiny and how He has an equally adventurous destiny for all who believe and follow Him!

  1. Friday, October 1st,
    Good Morning, MaryLu.
First of all ... I can hardly believe we're in to "October" already !!!
How wonderful to see all of your pictures, and hear the stories that went along with each; and the 'new friends' you made, along with re-acquainting with the 'old friends'. Sounds like you had a super time ... and that it proceeded speedily. Nice you could stay with your friend, Michelle (while in Minnesota). Wow -- you "even" got to watch a movie !!! How neat was that !
Your book-signings 'look like' lots of fun; and I 'wish' I could be at one of them (some time) ... what an honour it would be, to meet you personally ! Well, who knows ... 'maybe' .... one day ....
Thanks for sharing it all ... I really enjoyed seeing/reading all about it !
    Take care, and, God Bless,
    In Him, Brenda Hurley

  2. Thanks for sharing your visit, MaryLu. I have Gallimore on my wish list because I've heard so much about it. Suddenly I'm hungry for mashed potatoes and garlic-buttered popcorn.

Congratulations on all the success of your new book!

Thank you Debra for your kind words.
And Mimi, I was looking for you! Sorry you couldn't make it. I know my time there was pretty short. Maybe next time?

  8. Looks like you had fun, Marylu. Thanks for sharing your photos. So, hey! When are you coming to Baltimore to sign books at that huge Barnes & Noble store at the Inner Harbor, the series location? I'll buy the crab cakes.

  9. Thanks for sharing your pictures from your trip. Looks like you got to meet many nice people. How do you choose where to go for book signings?
The other day I took one of your books out and started reading it again...I didnt realize how many little parts I forgot about. =] I should be rereading your books more often.
Today I will be posting my review on Christian books and amazon...should I send you my review over email?
Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday! God Bless!

  10. Casey, I owe you a hug, then! Debbie, thanks! My cold is getting slightly better. You know how these things seem to last forever. :-(
Oh, Rita, that would be a blast! I'd love to come back to Baltimore. I just adore that city. And yummy.. crab cakes! Maybe I can talk my publisher into that next year.
Tori, I don't choose the locations, my publisher does. And in this case, a couple stores in Minn actually asked for me to come. Which book did you pick up again? When you post your reviews, just send me a note telling me you did it and I'll add your name.
Happy Lord's day, everyone! I'm heading out for a long walk..

  14. Hi DeVon! Well, I knew I would spell yours and Mikayla's names wrong. Sigh. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Please come by more often and tell Mikayla to as well. I loved getting a note from her the other day.
It was such a pleasure to meet you both. You really blessed me, too.
    Hugs, MaryLu
