If They Hated Me, They will Hate You

  1. Isaiah 51:6-8 (NIV) 6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. 7 “Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken my instruction to heart: Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals or be terrified by their insults. 8 For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.”

  2. Greetings Holy Messenger of God,

Very true, for me I can definitely relate to this in that I have lamented over this for a long time, but recently I have finally made peace with the hatred and past trauma for I know God’s kingdom is where hatred will never again exist. I believe God has finally taught me to accept what was and trust that in Heaven, sincerity and love will forever be pure and real.

I also wonder why there are people who commit crimes and show arrogance yet are still admired and loved by other people. This can refer to celebrities but does it also apply to regular people?
Common reasons in which people may justify hating someone are inflicting pain on or wronging someone, but even if those people truly repent and become wholly redeemed, others would still show hatred instead of forgiving them. I bet if the people who hurt them are those they accept for whatever judgmental reason, they would show leniency in place of hate. Does this make you want to cry at how judgment dictates who will be loved and who will be hated even if let’s say two people committed the same offense towards someone?
By judgment, it could mean like how someone can hate someone just by looking at them and instantly viewing them as inferior or worthless, and if the judged person shows discomfort or tries to prove the judger wrong, the judger would make them regret ever crossing paths with them. Wouldn’t this kind of mistreatment make us wish the Lord would return sooner? Of course, God is in control of the timing so all we can do is continue to seek Him for comfort.

I remember hearing how there are people who claim to be true Christians, and they have musical talent in that they can play several instruments really well and even sing decently that people may want to listen to them. They went and recorded themselves doing so and posted them on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube and got tens of thousands of followers. Is there a very high risk of them letting the glory and popularity get to their head and possibly falling away from the Lord? Moreover, they abruptly disowned some people who tried to reconnect with them or potentially warn them about the dangers of having a high online profile and presence - mind that the reconnecting people were once immature but wanted to interact with them again in a reformed state. Would God see this as alarming since those people have started to show resentment in place of love, even though they are kind to their admirers and followers online of course to avoid exposing the real them?

Thank you Sister for giving us the motivational meme to trust that God will wipe away hate forever. If only it would be much sooner, but we will trust in the Lord’s timing. Take care and blessings!

    1. The people who do not belong to God, who live in willful disobedience and sin.. of course they are admired and adored by the World. If the World loves you, then the Love of the Father is not in you.
There are so many evil people in the world, and until the Lord returns people, whether they claim to be Christians or not, or even are Christians, people will and can be cruel to each other. It's not right or fair, but when Jesus returns and rules and reigns from Jerusalem, justice will reign with Him, along with love and peace. So, it's best to just forgive everyone who has hurt us and move on. Let the Lord deal with them in His time.
Regarding those Christians who gain popularity online, leave them in God's hands. Yes, popularity can definitely produce pride and idol worship in those of weaker faith. So, pray for them. But once again, if the world loves them, I question whether they are truly glorifying God.
It will be glorious in heaven when we all know and love each other without any conditions or judgement. Look forward to that day!

  3. Hello Sister in Christ,

Amen to this! As long as we know God will bring about real justice and eliminate hate forever good, then we will take the hatred in stride up until the Lord’s return.

We know God detests all sin, but do you think hatred may be on the list of top few sins that God hates the most? This is especially because God loves us conditionally and Jesus taught us to love all, including enemies, and people show hate towards others, with or without good cause and whether or whether not the others show remorse and repentance.

Also on Judgment Day, does God judge automatically each individual without the judged doing anything? Or does every individual have to answer questions from God to confirm what God already knows and expects to hear? If the latter is true, then could that finally compel the false believers and unbelievers to finally have a change of heart for the better? Regardless, the sin of hatred will have to be answered in some way by those who bear it, so this should make them reconsider their life decisions.

Speaking of Judgment, is it true there are three separate Judgments? One is the Judgment of Nations which takes place after the Tribulation but before the Millennium, with the purpose being to see who is worthy of entering the Millennium (Matthew 25:31-36). The second is the Judgment of Works, where believers are rewarded for their service to God (2 Corinthians 5:10). The third judgment is the Great White Throne Judgment, where only unbelievers are judged (Revelation 20:11-15). Some Believers feel that there may be just one formal Judgment and that the three judgments mentioned above are part of it and are not separate, with also the belief that the Great White Throne Judgment applies to everyone, not just the wicked and unbelieving. Is this true Sister?

Blessings for the reassuring message. We will be victorious over evil as long as we trust in God! Take care and have a blessed day. From a Brother in Christ.

    1. We are supposed to love each other, so yes, hatred is a terrible sin. Remember we don't have to like everyone, however.. but definitely not hate. As far as Judgement day, I have no clue what the Lord will ask of us. The Bible says that all our sins are forgiven and forgotten so we will only be judged on what we did for the Lord. As far as the Lost, I imagine they will be judged for their sins and the number and depravity of each one, which will determine their place in hell. At the judgement it will be too late for anyone to have a change of heart.
I believe there are two major judgments. The Bema Seat judgement where Christians will be judged for what they did for Jesus, and the White Throne judgement which is the judgement of the Lost. There is some mention of a judgement where Jesus separates the goats from the sheep depending on what they did for Israel, but I'm not sure when that takes place. So, no the Great White Throne judgement is just for the wicked as far as I understand it.
      Blessings, Brother!

  4. Amen MaryLu,
I'll says this with a bit of caution. I believe there are things we should hate. These are some script's that say this.
    Amos 5:15:
.Hate evil, and love good; and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph"

Romans 12:9 love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, cling to what is good.

Psalm 97:10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil

Psalm 139: 29 They speak of you with evil intent, your adversaries, misuse your name. 21 Do I not hate those who hate you O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against you ?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them, I count them as enemies.
    * This is David talking.

Revelation 2:6 6But you have this to your credit: You hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

I'm certainly not trying to spur anyone on to hate. But in my humble opinion, I get angry with these false preachers who not only blaspheme my Lord and Savior, but lead others to do so as well. I'm down right rippen when I read of child abuse, with the strong taking advantage of the weak, the defensless. I'm appauled by those who use God's word for profit and deceive many. I cry angry tears at injustice by haughty men and those who abuse their power !

And I hate, that I hate at times. I know it is God who avenges. But arent those who cry out for Justice from beneath the alter, asking; how long O Lord till you avenge ! Isnt it hate that makes such a statement ?

Maybe this is a weakness in me. I've watched parents forgive criminals who brutally abused their child, and I cant comprehend that.

I think of when Peter lopped the guards ear off when they came to arrest Jesus, and humbled by the Lords response.

    1. Hi Brother, It's one thing to hate a person and quite another to hate what they do. God gets angry and rightly so at people and he hates their sin, but I can think of only one time God hated a person and that was Esau, and even then, I'm not sure that's what the text means.? I agree with your list of things and people that infuriate you! They do me too, but I try not to actually hate the people. I am angry with them, yes, but I know that's it's the enemy within them making them do such horrid things.
Having said that, I know we are not supposed to hate anyone, even our enemies

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 [a]But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you

Not always easy to do and I'm not saying I'm good at it either. Only by God's Grace and His Holy Spirit can we do this.
      Blessings!
