Why Tabernacles is Important!

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.5 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. Leviticus 23:34-36

Happy 7th day of the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot! Today is the last day of the 7 days of the feast,  right before the 8th day mentioned in the above Scripture.  This is the only Jewish Holiday or Appointment Feast from the Lord that has a separate holiday celebrated on the 8th day.

The 8th day is called Shemini Atzeret  (more on this later)

When the Israelites waved palm branches and threw them down as a path for Jesus when he was riding his donkey into Jerusalem on what we know as “Palm Sunday”, they welcomed him as Messiah but they were also thinking that He was fulfilling the messianic feast of the Feast of Tabernacles.

During this feast, Jews make booths to pray in, eat and enjoy their time together celebrating the provisions of God during the year. This happens all over Israel even to this very day. They decorate their booths with palm branches, hence this is why on Palm Sunday they were waving palm branches on that day and shouting “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” The shouting of hosanna is  actually a Jewish liturgical prayer from Psalm 118 which is read during the Feast of Tabernacles. This is done so they can ask God to save them, and to continue being their source of provision and protection.

This feast was always pointing to a future fulfillment in Messiah dwelling with his people for eternity and reigning over all of the kingdoms of the earth. They thought Jesus would establish an earthly kingdom for them and defeat the Romans and their enemies…when he did not do that, many did not believe he was the true Messiah and ultimately rejected Him.

The Feast of Tabernacles is also called the Feast of Ingathering. Hmm

Jesus did not become the earthly king like they had hoped for…and now someone else is being touted as the “peace maker” and giving them victory over their enemies on this very feast day.

Trump will be receiving a hero’s welcome in Israel today. .This is known as ‘the last day, the greatest day’ of the Feast of Tabernacles.

This is the same day Jesus was in the temple during the Feast of Tabernacles and declared himself as the living waters (John 7:37) of life, the spiritual sustenance for everyone who would believe in Him and receive the Holy Spirit. He said this as water was being poured out in the temple grounds as part of the ‘water libation ritual’ during this feast.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:37-38

Trump will be addressing the Knesset today (on Monday, October 13). This is very significant in the eyes of the religious Jew that understand the messianic significance of this festival.

But let's get back to the 8th day, Shemini Atzeret, which will be celebrated tomorrow on October 14th

The eighth day in the Bible is significant because it symbolizes a new beginning and new creation, most importantly through the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first day of the week (the 8th day!)  This concept is also seen in the Old Testament, as with the first eight-day cycle of creation and the ordination of the priesthood which began after a seven-day period. It represents the culmination of God's plan, the destruction of death, and the promise of eternal life.

That’s the pattern we see whenever the Bible mentions the eighth day.  It’s always a day of completion of a process having to do with consecration, dedication, purification or cleansing, and Yehovah’s presence is often tangibly manifest on the eighth day.

That’s what this time of Sukkot is about – seven days of preparation to meet the Lord supernaturally.  It all leads up to what takes place on the eighth day.

You’ve probably heard that Sukkot represents the Wedding Feast of the Lamb  from Revelation 19.  What comes after a wedding?  The Honeymoon – just the bride and groom.  This is a time of consummating the marriage.  Consummation speaks of becoming one, and it also brings forth new life.  The 8th Day can be likened to the consummation of our marriage to Yeshua and the new life that has been supernaturally implanted in us

Most Biblical scholars also agree that Jesus was born on Tabernacles. Also did you know that when a male child is born in Israel, he must be circumcised on the 8th day? What is circumcision? It's the removing of the flesh.

Most of you already know that the Spring Feasts or Appointments have all been fulfilled by Jesus, so for time's sake I won't go into that here. But what about the Fall Feasts?

The Fall Feasts are a rehearsal for the events that are ushered in by Yeshua’s second coming:

  • The Feast of Trumpets represents Yeshua’s return at the last trump. (Second coming)
  • The Day of Atonement represents the judgment of the nations.
  •  Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles represents the Millennium when we’ll tabernacle with Yeshua for 1,000 years.
  • The 8th Day represents the new heaven and new earth – Eternity!

Everything done during these appointments lead up to the Great 8th Day, which will happen after the millenial reign.

There is much more to this Feast day, but I encourage you to study it in your own. An interesting thing to note, however is that 2 years ago, on October 7th, was the day of that brutal attack on the Jews. Interesting that today, the remaining hostages from that attack (who are alive) may be going home.

Am I saying that the rapture will happen today or tomorrow? NO I AM NOT! So please, no hate mail.  I'm just pointing out the importance of this God-appointed feast day to both the Jews and to those of us who love Jesus.

Keep watch!  No matter how hard it gets. Never give up looking for Jesus!

  1. Today is also called Hoshana Rabbah, the last day of the festival. I don't think it is a coincidence that the hostages are released today either--against all odds. I still can't get over their release in terms of hamas now having no leverage. It is overjoyous to have them back, but what was/will be the true cost??? They now regroup to plan another Oct. 7th.

TW Tramm has an article noting the Rapture parallels to Hoshana Rabbah. Interesting too, today is Columbus day, and he notes parallels there as well. I don't know how to make text clickable, so apologize for the long link:

Occurs to me that the Jubilee is a type of 8th day also and many believe we are in a Jubilee year. So many types/patterns/shadows in God's Word. One of these days the shadow will be reality and we will be looking down from the topside of that shadow, the substance of our hope over faith. Hallelujah and Maranatha, fam. Keep holding on, keep looking up, our Redemption is truly drawing nigh!

    1. I wondered about the 2,000 Palestinians being released, that’s a lot of angry people who may want revenge. They are probably in better shape than the Israeli hostages.

    2. I feel this is totally possible given the long history of enmity and tension between the two regions. If this vengeance mindset comes to fruition, and especially since this exchange was brokered by the US, then America should probably need to be on high alert, in terms of parenting another possible 9/11.
From a Biblical perspective, I wonder if this might have a bearing in hastening the peace treaty that is the Daniel 9:27 Covenant. Just like how there is strong opposition for Israel to rebuild its Third Temple without some firm, guaranteed peace treaty and ceasefire, would such a peace plan be sufficient in temporarily stopping the hostilities?

    3. Hi Judi! Yes, I've already heard threats from HAMAS that next time they will murder all the Jews. The exchange has never been fair to Israel. And they end up going right back to HAMAS and restarting their terror on Israel. But yes, from a Biblical perspective, the next war that Israel wins will most likely be the thing that triggers the final signing of this covenant that will also allow for the temple to be rebuilt. Only God knows!

    1. Hello Sister Judi,

I am not on Sister MaryLu’s Telegram Channel since I am limiting excessive use of online sites, but checking her blog daily/weekly has taught and revealed so much to me throughout this year.
I want to thank you personally again for the reassuring remark back in the 9/26 post. Also, thank you for keeping me in mind with the heads-up on Jesus waving - I believe He is waving at me whenever I look up in the sky knowing that I am still waiting amidst temptations and struggles. Did you know there is another picture of Jesus waving at the end of the 8/15 post on this blog? :D
      Much gratitude and Blessings Sister!

  3. Hello Sister in Christ,

Happy Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles! I mistakenly thought it was three days after Yom Kippur (10/02) back on 10/05, but looks like it is ten days. I know Yom Kippur is ten days after Rosh Hashanah but I guess it was a simple miscalculation LOL

Yes I heard since like yesterday or so that Trump is set to arrive in Israel to meet with the Knesset to ratify the fulfillment of Phase 1 of the Peace Plan. As Sister Judi posted above, it really is interesting how it coincides with Sukkot - I am convinced that it could be a sign from the Lord meaning we are ever so close to going home, especially with how you mentioned that we can leave anytime before the Peace Plan is fully finalized (ie ready to be officially signed as the Daniel Covenant).
Also while the hostages being finally released and going home does offer a sigh of relief, do you believe that just like surviving soldiers who come home from war, they are likely to suffer from PTSD based on the atrocities they suffered? It may be hard to determine if they may ever adapt to normal life again after everything they went through for two years.

Since Sukkot is a bit of a observance day of prayer and celebration, I find it somewhat analogous that the release of hostages could symbolize our release/salvation from the incoming evil by the Lord, at least I try to incessantly link any positivity to the Lord’s promise of taking us home and of course, giving us eternal life.

I remember that since the Rapture did not take place this past Feast of Trumpets, we believe that these feasts are meant of that Jewish people, not the Gentiles of the Church, so I don’t think we should be get all excited during these Jewish holidays since it has been proven supposedly that there is no association as to a potential Rapture time. However, it is still interesting to keep track for it is still a very possible season for the Lord to come, so we will continue to remain vigilant.

I read on the FiveDoves website that with the US and other supporting nations of Ukraine planning to send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine to assist in their war with Russia. There is speculation that could this be preparation for the imminent Gog-Magog War? I am paying attention especially with the 4-year anniversary of the war coming up in February, so I feel anything war-related or war-provoking could happen, between now and next Spring. I am sure hoping we will be home by then or sooner.
Additionally, a post on that website stated with adamant tone that 10/20 could be a potential Tribulation start date due to the 2520-day Tribulation time length being added and arriving around Yom Kippur 2032. However, I am not going to believe this completely knowing that no one will ever know the day and hour, but I thought I’d point that out since I have been still constantly looking up and saying Come Quickly Lord Jesus only God knows exactly how many times.

Have a great week Sister and keep looking up! I feel the “celebration” of the releasing of the hostages and Trump’s arrival in Israel could signify something prophetic, while the rest of the world actually sees and believes it as wonderfully amazing. I could only hope God will wake up more people to the real end goal before it is too late. Maybe it is only further evidence and support of 1 Thessalonians 5:3? Peace and Blessings from a Brother in Christ.

    1. Yes, Brother, I've been praying for the returned hostages. They will most likely suffer in years to come both emotionally, spiritually, and mentally, and some even physically. I cannot imagine what horrors they endured these past 2 years.
Yes, I do not tend to believe that the church leaves on a Jewish Feast day, but I allow that I could be wrong, and these feast days have such great connections to weddings, that is hard to ignore.

I heard about the Tomahawk missiles. I'm not sure this has much to do with Gog-Magog but it could play a part in prompting Putin to attack Israel. It seems the world leaders definitely want a world war and are pushing for one.
The Watchmen are all jumping on the next date for the rapture, and I'm staying out of it. I've been at this too long and they do this every year, year after year... one day passes, they just project onto another day. This goes right into December and if we are still here, they will be saying Hanukkah is the day!! And on and on they go. So, I'm stepping off the hamster wheel and just saying I know we are leaving very soon!
Blessings to you, Brother! Stay strong... Jesus loves you.

  4. Good Morning Holy Messenger of God,

I feel that from a divine viewpoint, that this could be the Lord’s way of letting us know that He will save us very soon, like how the hostages have been released and are finally home with their families. It is kind of synonymous from a symbolic view, as the previous Anonymous poster indicated. Regardless, we have to keep our guard up, for I totally would not doubt that this may be taken advantage of due to its delicate nature to plan for something far more nefarious.
One thing I could keep reiterating is, everything that has happened in recent years is fulfillment of Bible Prophecy. I do not want to elaborate further on why people just could not understand that what seems good may likely be a ploy to keep them distracted from the real, usually evil, agenda within. Does it seem like people are either willingly or maybe unwittingly choosing to get saved the hard way (ie during the Tribulation) when they can avoid all the suffering by simply making the effort to see all of this from our perspective?

Something I recently read is that regarding the government shutdown, the Supreme Court recently made a ruling that “could make it impossible to end the shutdown.” The ruling was related to an AIDS Vaccine case which had to do with great need of funding since HIV services have been drastically reduced due to funding cuts. Since the President is known to back off on promises; for instance, even if a funding bill finally passes and the government reopens, he could still go back on his word and slash the funding, rendering the whole process in vain. Do you think this is part of the plan to keep humanity in shackles as preparations are continuing to allow for the Beast Empire? I seriously hope that the Lord will come for us soon for I am sure the general public gradually starting to feel the effects, not just those directly affected by the cuts.

Stay strong in the Lord Sister and keep looking up. Have a great day and God Bless!

    1. Greetings! I think most believers who don't recognize the signs of the times are just ignorant of Biblical prophecy OR they are in love with this world too much and can't fathom leaving. They've been told that all you have to do is believe and you'll go in the rapture, so remaining for the Tribulation probably doesn't even cross their minds. I doubt anyone would willingly want to go through the Tribulation. It's sad to watch.
I hadn't heard that about the Supreme court... and Trump could certainly do that, though I think his fans would get angry. I truly believe that they will start a World War and then collapse the economy. Then they can rise from the ashes and recreate their New World Order

  5. Greetings Beloved Daughter of our Heavenly Father,

I love hearing about the rich history of all the Jewish feast days'. Years ago in the Pentecostal church we used to clebrate some of these. Miss those day's.

I do have a hard time keeping up on these speacial day's, so thank you Sister for posting about them.

I believe these days are an expression of reverence, honor, and humilty before our Holy God as Creator, Provider and Savior.
There should only be so much awe of God in the church today !

I wanted to make a comment on last weeks post that said: what if there was no delay ?.
Today I was studying Rev 10: 6 6 and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay, 7 but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.

And the result of this private message from the 7 thunders to John was: 9 So I went up to the angel and told him to give me the little book. And he said to me, “Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.”
John was told "not" to write this down, but to seal it.
This is also mentioned in Ezekiel 3.

May it be possible that John, and John alone holds a mystery we long to see ?

    Christs peace

    1. Hi Brother! Yes, I've always wondered about the 7 thunders! What did they say? What are they? Are they being unsealed now? I think you're onto something... If you learn any more about it, please let me know. I think John knew a lot more than he wrote down for us! Blessings!

  6. Hello Almighty Warrior of the Lord,

I just read a news source that had the subject: “Fresh from Middle East victory, Trump now sets his sights on peace in Ukraine.”

Just reading this headline instantly make me think: since the AC will be the one doing this very act of traveling around the world advocating for and promoting peace, is Trump doing so a possible warning from God that the AC may be revealed soon? It is still too early and uncertain to tell about the President being a potential AC candidate, but this act rang a bell loudly in my mind based on how it was described in Revelation. Maybe Jesus might be breaking the First Seal in the near future?

Then I thought, if it really is the prophesied chain of events with the ceasefire deal signed in Israel and soon peace efforts are made in war-torn Ukraine, then we would be gone already, but since we are still here, maybe there are still some more events that need to happen or maybe Jesus is still making final preparations before the Rapture happens? I remember you mentioned before that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are likely saddled up and ready to gallop across the Earth, only thing left is Jesus breaking the Seals to allow for that. Could this be true Sister?

Even Egypt’s president reportedly stated that this could be a chance at true peace in the Middle East, which is echoed with the Jordanian King reminding that peace can only be achieved and solidified with the “recognition of a Palestinian State.” Just more evidence that we are very close, right?

I hope some of us true Believers who have been following these closely are still faithful and are not feeling discouraged about the Rapture not happening - especially with this Peace Plan gradually being fulfilled, a Gaza ceasefire deal being signed, and Trump planning to bring about the same type of peace approach in Ukraine, they would think we should have left already, but I am hoping it is for the reasons indicated above. Do you agree with this?

Take care and Blessings in Christ Jesus!

    1. Yes.. Trump really does seem to be doing exactly what we'd expect from the AC! I still don't think it's him, but he's sort of like a "John the Baptist" for the AC. This covenant with many is very interesting. I keep searching for a 7 years term but have not found that yet, nor a clause that allows the Jews to rebuild their temple.
Absolutely! Remember we are in Heaven before Jesus starts breaking those seals... but I do foresee that they will be broken soon. Yes... the Palestinian state is next... I'm sure.. dividing up God's land.. which will not go well for them
Yes, many saints believe we should already be gone, including myself, but I'm not discouraged. I trust my Savior and I know He'll come at the perfect time. This time of testing is good for us.. to strengthen our faith and ensure our love for Him.
      Blessings!
