The winner of Montana Rose by Mary Connealy is

Sugar and Grits! Thanks to everyone who entered. If you haven't read any of Mary Connealy's books, I encourage you to start. Her stories are very funny and heart-warming.

Next Wednesday, I'll draw a winner for Rita Gerlach's book, Surrender the Wind, so you can still enter that contest if you'd like.

And just a bit of news about my books. I've just been contracted for another 3 book series set in Baltimore during the War of 1812!!! I've very excited about this series and will be traveling to Baltimore sometime next month to do some research. More on this later.

Have a restful, blessed weekend, everyone!

  4. Congrats, Mary Lu!! I can't wait to read it. I'm so glad to see the War of 1812 being recognized by CBA publishers. Between you and Laurie Alice maybe real interest will be sparked in other periods.

  7. Oooh, that's fantastic news! My two favorite historical topics are the War of 1812 and piracy, so now my favorite author will have written about my two favorite eras! :~)

  10. That's good news, Mary Lu. It sounds really interesting. I wonder if it will involve the American heiress who married Napoleon's brother??

  11. Wow! I'm so happy for you Marylu...Here's to many, many more.

I'll miss the pirates though, I learned a lot from your books. They were a nice change from so many of the mainstream Christian novels.

  12. Thanks so much ladies! Your congratulations mean a great deal to me. There may not be pirates in these new books, but there will be plenty of sea-faring adventures. The war of 1812 was fought mainly at sea, you know.
Diane, sadly no, the book is not about Elizabeth Patterson, or Petterson? Anyway, she is much too scandalous for the Christian market!
The first book in the new series probably won't hit the market until Fall 2010.
    Blessings to all!

  13. Congratulations on your contract, MaryLu. That's a well-deserved honor.

I received my copy of The Blue Enchantress last week and started reading it immediately. It's very good, and it is a pleasure to be an influencer for it. I'm going to visit my daughter in Germany for two weeks (she leads a campus ministry), but will finish reading it when I return.
