Introducing author Michelle Sutton--book giveaway

Michelle Sutton is not only a good friend but she's a great author. She writes contemporary fiction that I would classify as "edgy" because she addresses important topics and reveals emotions and desires that most Christian Publishers shy away from. Her writing is natural and it flows so smoothly, you'll forget you're reading a book. Her characters are real and deep and flawed like everyone of us. I'm highlighting 2 of her books today. The first one It's Not about Him, Michelle has graciously offered to give away to one fortunate person who leaves a comment on this blog!

Suzie wakes up from a party and doesn't remember what happened. When she discovers she is pregnant but has no idea who the father is, she decides to place her baby for adoption with an infertile couple from church. Following through ends up being more challenging than she'd imagined. But she wants to do the right thing. If only Jeff would quit trying to marry her so she'll keep her baby! Why doesn't he understand? It's not about him; it's about what's best for her child. Meanwhile, a man shows up in her life that looks irritatingly familiar. Could he be the father?
Here's my review of It's not about Him Ms. Sutton's done it again with another poignant story for today's youth in It's Not About Him. With great finesse and sensitivity, Ms. Sutton addresses timely issues such as abortion, date rape, abuse, alcoholism, and sexual temptation all wrapped up in a colorful and heart-rending story of two young lovers who must not only battle their own abusive pasts and insecurities as they struggle to maintain a strong faith in God, but learn to open their hearts to love again, despite many obstacles and temptations. With a sight surprise at the end, Ms. Sutton brings the story full circle, leaving the reader more than satisfied.

And another incredible book, which is only available as an E-book is: Danger at the Door

Upon her fiancé's death, Laney became a recluse who only left her home for emergencies. She managed to survive - barely - on food delivery service and her work-at-home job. When she tries to move on from her grief, the commemorative meal she orders is ruined. However, it leads to an unlikely friendship with an attractive man, Bojan, who speaks little English. As he befriends Laney he continually says the wrong things, but he doesn't give up trying to win her trust. Meanwhile, she has this strange feeling of being watched and wonders if she's losing her mind. Complicating things further, every time she leaves her house something bad happens, confirming that she is safer at home. Can Bojan convince Laney she'll be safe with him, or will his presence put her in further danger? Will he be able to protect the woman he loves before it's too late? My review: I highly recommend Ms. Sutton's books. Her characters are deep and sympathetic, her plot interesting, and her romance sizzling. If you want a great romance with a high level of sexual tension without the sex, then this book is for you. The hero in this book is a guy every woman will swoon over. He's honorable, romantic, caring and of course, handsome. Ms. Sutton weaves his foreign accent through the dialogue in a funny and clever way that will put a smile on your face. The romance is sweet and touching one minute and deep and emotional the next, all the while riding upon the waves of a suspenseful plot. One thing I love about the characters is their genuineness. I guarantee by the end of the book, you will feel they are your new best friends.

  4. I really like Michelle and keep up with her on her blogs and facebook and shoutlife. I don't want to win an e-book but would love to win a paper one. I just don;t see how anyone can get interested in a book having to sit at the computer and read it, I read in bed at night.

  5. This book looks very interesting, and sounds like it goes quite in-depth into detailed emotional stuff. I absolutely love it when an author is so skilled that you can feel the characters' pain/joy/etc. (and YOU definately fit that description, btw ;-) Please enter me, and thank you very much for holding these drawings!
