Jennifer Clark!!!! Congratulations Jennifer. And thanks to everyone who entered. I encourage you to pick up the book online or at your local bookstore. You won't regret it!!
Tomorrow, I'll announce the winner of The Country House Courtship by Linore Rose Burkhard, so stay tuned.
I thought you might like to see a sample of what my publisher is working on for my next cover for Surrender the Heart (Formally known as Surrender the Sea) Obviously, this is not the final version and is only an idea of the mood they are going for. Thoughts?
GREAT COVER! I love that we can now see her face. :) Fits the mood and gives you a sense of mystery- even without the ship. :P
ReplyDeleteHey, that's awesome! It still has all the darkness and intrigue that the first version of the ship cover did, and I like how you can see more of the dress up close. And it's very much different from any other cover, so it'll really draw the eye.
ReplyDeleteOoo I'm scared for her! What is this girl thinking going down a dark alley at night? I love it though! Can't wait to see the final!
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee
First off, I'll just say that I really love the cover...excellent job!
ReplyDeleteBut... that said, I would like it more if I hadn't already seen the other one with the "sea" background. I'm REALLY not very impressed with the publishers' bow to political pressure! Yes, I know, you feel they are supportive of you and I'm glad for that... just the nonconformist in me is bugged!
It is beautiful though.
First of all, please know I will purchase the book regardless of the cover art...
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I am so sad you are not going with the original Surrender The Sea cover! The original was gorgeous and I'm so sorry you are facing these challenges.
Keep up the good fight! I have several ladies in my bible study group reading your books now so I am spreading the word to keep a look out for cleverly disguised pirate adventures to come!
God Bless!

Thank you, ladies! I feel so blessed to have your support. :-) I'm really glad you like this cover. I am pleased that my publisher wants to keep the suspenseful mood. I was worried they would put a field of flowers in the background or an amish carriage for something. LOL
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have a great weekend!
Oh no! I like everything, but I really wish you could have kept the sea and the ship! To me, this would be your best cover yet. The only thing I would change is showing her whole face (I do not like covers that do that normally), but no one else seems to agree with me. Not that it matters. I like the lighting, though; it seems to be in the right place. I cannot tell, is she still holding that knife?
ReplyDeleteOverall, however, I like this cover a lot.

ohhhh the mystique is going to kill me! that is a goreous picture and extremely intruging when it comes to just picking it up at the store. love it! i will miss the one they had before but...what the public wants-or what people think that they want-they will get.
ReplyDeletegood for you to stick it out! And this one seems just as gorgeous as the last.
I really like this cover. It definitely gives a 'what is around the corner?' kind of feeling.
ReplyDeleteAgreement with everyone else! It has an air of mystery that would make me snatch it off the shelf.

I LOVE that we can see her face and that dress even better! The mystery and suspense is really very obvious - so that's good.
ReplyDeleteI still miss the ship, but this is a good substitute. I'm trying not to stay mad about that - and this is a really good cover so that helps.
That looks good!
ReplyDeleteOooh this cover hints at suspense and intrigue.. I love it! It's definitely different than all of your other covers. It's great to try something new! I would definitely pick this up in the store just by seeing the picture. I am glad they didn't put flowers or something in the background. : )
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Jennifer!
I didn't see the first cover so this one looks great. It makes me wish that I wasn't seeing this online but in the bookstore so I could buy the book and read it! And PLEASE, no amish buggies! I think we've all seen enough of those! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jennifer and enjoy your book!
Thanks so much for your comments, ladies! I'll pass this along to my publisher. It may not be ships, but it definitely captures the suspenseful mood of the story. yea! You all are so sweet and you bless me tremendously!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jennifer Clark, enjoy the book!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I LOVE this cover MaryLu!! That background is so neat and very intriguing! It totally says amazing, suspense-filled story inside! I really want to know what the book is about...is the trailer going to be posted soon? :) Cant wait to see the final cover!
Keep up the wonderful work and God Bless you! Have a great week MaryLu! :D
I like this cover much more than the second one. Great detail on the dress, kind of gothic in its air of suspense. Sometimes I don't like the expressions on the girl's face, but this girl is excellent. It would be nice if they could somehow work the sea into it, but it's still a great cover, MaryLu.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, especially the colour :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer this cover since we can see the main character's face.

ReplyDeleteThis cover is great! The woman is really beautiful, and theirs an air of mystery and excitment as she looks behind. I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteThe cover looks great. Can't hardly wait for the book.

I think my favorite was the first one for Surrender the Sea, but I'll buy and read the book no matter what the cover is. When is it coming out?!!? :D
