  2. Wednesday, May 4th,
    "Morning, MaryLu.'
This isn't 'Penelope Cruz', is it ??? And don't be fooled by her attire ... she may 'appear feminine and sexy' ... but judging from the way she is wielding her weaponry ... I'd say: "Look out ... Don't get in her way !!!"
She is most definitely .... standing her ground !
Neat photo, MaryLu ... thanks for sharing !
    Take care, and, God Bless,

  3. I don't think I could ever do that - be a woman pirate. I'm too scared of being in the ocean with no land in sight!! But I sure to love to read about it and live vicariously through characters in your books. :o)

    Fun Picture!

  4. In the name of our Captain - Jesus!
God has called women to be on the frontlines too!

  5. Yea.. I thought you all would like this! Yes, don't get in her way!! And we are called to be on the front lines too. In fact, we'll be coming back with Jesus to fight at Armageddon. And don't worry, Sheri, I believe that battle is on land. :-) By the way, Brenda, I just heard that Canada may be the United State's last true ally! So, God Bless Canada!

  6. Awesome pic! Like Anne Bonney, Mary Read, Grace O'Malley...and many more. I never tire of the concept! :-)

@Kirsten - Amen to that! My favorite woman from the Bible is Deborah in Judges 4-5.

Note: Tomorrow is National Day of Prayer
So, we need to all stand together and pray for our country. If ever we needed prayer, it is now!

  8. Great picture!! I mean, I definitely love all the pictures of beautiful ships, but this shows more of what a pirate would be like : ) I couldn't do the whole out to sea thing either, but on land, I hope I would be brave enough to fight like this if needed!

  9. It's funny because I was just talking to my teenage son about how we all had to be willing to stand and fight - no matter the cost. Great pic!

  10. Well Sapphire, you sure know your women pirates! Thanks, Debbie, for reminding me of the day of prayer. I believe we need to pray for our economy and for God to protect us from attack. And mostly for our nation to turn back to Him. It seems impossible, but nothing is impossible with God!
Sarah, you'll be as brave as you have to be when the time comes!
Lee, absolutely. As we approach the end of the age, we will have to battle the enemy more and more. But we win in the end!
    I, for one, can't wait.

  11. Yeah, I could never be her. Fight along those men...couldn't do that. I think I'd be just as afraid of my crew as our enemy...ha!
Well, right now I'm stuck in an ocean of corn and soy...no waves.

  12. I love this picture! Female pirates are fascinating characters. Women who truly broke every cultural barrier. What's that saying, "well-behaved women don't make history"?
    Thanks for sharing!

  13. Abigail, you would be the fair maiden every man wants to rescue! Sounds like a good deal to me. Niki, Indeed, we never hear of those well-behaved women, do we? I love stories of women who defied all cultural odds.. women who joined armys and navys and fought alongside men. Amazing stuff.

  14. I love this picture. It absolutely describes me-(I'm still unsure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Its the one reason my family calls me the sassy red-head. lol
I blame the Pirate of the Caribbean movies. -speaking of which, I can't wait to see the newest one!

@Sapphire-I love Deborah too! Its amazing how she was able to step out of the box and help the Israelites. I also love Esther-it takes a lot of guts to go before the king unsummoned (especially if it could mean certain death!)

(P.S. And to those who kept us in your prayers, thank you! My family and I made it through the storms that hit the south. We have no damage-Thank God!-but I know a lot of people who aren't that blessed.)

  15. Thursday, May 5th,
    "Morning, MaryLu."
Just wanted to say -- 'thank-you' for what you said about 'Canada'. Just before our Election (on May 2nd) ... Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in his campaign-address -- that he wants to continue to work closely together with "our neighbour" (the U.S. of course). And by the way -- Stephen Harper "won" the Elections, and, with a majority of the votes ... giving him the largest representation of Seats in our Government ! (He's in for '4' more years.) Yeahhhhhh !!!!!!!!! So -- "neighbour" ... may the Lord Bless you, as well !!!
Thanks again. Take care, and, God Bless,
    In Him, Brenda Hurley

  16. Eszter, I'm SO glad you and your family are safe! How frighenting! And I've already made plans to go see the pirate movie on May 20th with my daughter.
Yes Brenda, I heard Harper won and I know he's a conservative. This is great news!! I"m so glad we are neighbors with the same goals in mind. :-)
