Rainy and cold in California!.

Last week I had my shorts and T-shirt on and it was 85. This week, I have jeans and a sweater, and it's 65. What the heck?  I guess Fall is here. Plus it's raining! I always love the first rain of the season (For those of you who don't live in California, it doesn't rain all summer!)  The air smells so fresh and clean and somehow, its as if the parched land just breathes a sigh of relief.  Soon, all the brown hills will turn green again.
That part is good. The part that is bad is that the rain won't stop until April!  But I suppose that will help me stay inside and get all my books written!!
What's it like where you are?

  2. California must have sent some of that weather to Arizona! It has been in the 60's and we have had several rainy days. I am loving it. I am moving to Michigan within the next few months, and I look forward to having a real fall again. Driving in the snow will be a new challenge though!

  3. Yes, Heather, the rain here in Northern Ca is very cold. Burrr

Emma, moving to Michigan? On purpose? LOL. I was born there. In Flint. Though I don't remember it since we moved before I turned one. Talk about cold!

  4. It has been raining on and off here in Shasta County. I am glad I don't have to turn on the AC for awhile. Hopefully it will be awhile before I have to turn on the heater.

  5. Haha, yeah on purpose! I was born in Sturgis, which is a tiny place on the Michigan/Indiana border. I lived there almost 16 years. After 10 years in Arizona, we decided we wanted to go back! My sister, who was a middle school science teacher in Los Angeles, moved back to our home town last month! It will be fun to all be in the same area again! It means I get to see my niece a lot more! :)

  6. Last week here in MN it was chilly in the 50's, this week it's been in the gorgeous 80's. I love having some extra nice weather to ride my bicycle before the snow sets in.

  7. It has been in the 80s here all week, which has been nice. It was cooler and wetter last week, so it is nice to have another break before fall really sets in.

  8. Sweaters when it's 65!?! I laughed out loud at that - here, we don't break out our sweaters until it's 45or so...course, we complain about the "heat wave" if it breaks 80! :-D

It's actually stayed in the 70s this week...I wish it would drop down to at least the 50s so it would feel more autumnal. :-)

    "Morning, MaryLu."
After my trip, and upon returning back to Ontario Canada ... I've been sleeping in "flannel" pjs. The temps at night go down quite cool now ... 40's mostly (sometimes 50's). Daytimes are still pretty nice ... with sun, and fresh breezes. The trees have already begun to change to the Autumn colours ... very pretty ! (But .... it's NOT -- blue ocean, sandy beaches, palm trees, vibrant and beautiful flowers everywhere, etc, etc, etc.) That's okay ... I still love my Country !
It's our Cndn Thanksgiving weekend (Mon Oct 10th) ... so anyone out there who is a fellow-Canadian ... enjoy God's blessings and goodness ! God IS good, ALL the time, NO matter what !!!
    Take care, and, God Bless,
    In Him, Brenda Hurley
