Wordless Wednesday!

Ship run aground!

  1. Wed Sept 12th,
    "Morning, MaryLu."
Well this is a totally intriguing yet eery looking picture !!! Yes, I see the ravaged ship that has run aground ... but, what caught my immediate attention was the height of the waves, and, the ominous black clouds above !!! And just look at those sails all torn to shreds ! Content to be on "this side of the photograph" ... as it is just down-right scary trying to imagine it.
Wonder 'if' that wee boat in front is attempting to help with a rescue, or, 'maybe' it's already ... too late ??? (Doesn't look too hopeful to me !)
    Thanks for sharing.
    Take care, and, God Bless,

  2. Second message for the day:
MaryLu ... I hope you don't mind me leaving yet another thought ....
But, in going through some recent issues with a wayward and troubled son, a song has been playing over and over in my mind. It truly, just came in to my head. And especially with "today's" picture you shared, these lyrics ring so true ... both in the physical, and, surely the spiritual realm:
Chorus: "The anchor holds, though the ship is battered. The anchor holds, though the sails are torn. I have fallen on my knees, as I faced the raging seas. The anchor holds, in SPITE OF the storm !"
Last verse: "Now I have been young, but I am older now. And there has been beauty these eyes have seen. But it was in the night, through the storms of my life, Ohhh, THAT'S WHERE GOD PROVED HIS LOVE TO ME."
Last Sunday in our morning worship time, one of the Pastors gave a word on "fear" -- people being enslaved/trapped/in bondage -- to various fears .... fear of mankind, fear of the unknown, fears related to -- worry, stress, anxiety, etc, and invited those of us inflicted with this, to come to the front for prayer. I did so. A few dear and precious friends, came, and one even took both of my hands, and told me to just "let it all out" (as they knew of my ongoing heartache over this particular son). MaryLu ... I sobbed and cried, and sobbed uncontrollably ... as the tears and dam broke inside (from "trying" to carry all of this burden and weight alone). Having released this "raging storm", and friends praying over me and the situation ... I came away so VERY -- relieved, lifted, refreshed, renewed, strengthened, encouraged, etc. Have the problems with this son disappeared ... NO. But, my attitude and crippling fears have subsided. And the words to this song, just keep playing over and over again. (Just finished listening to Ray Boltz sing "The Anchor Holds", on You-Tube. Amazing and beautiful !!!)
Anyway ... just wanted to share this with you ... and even though I find today's picture frightening (in the physical realm, on your blog) ... it was a great and wonderful reminder ... that in the spiritual realm, our God IS my anchor ... and HE DOES HOLD me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks for listening.
    Take care, and, God Bless,

  3. What a spooky picture! The artist did a great job choosing the black, white and grays, it really adds to the mood!

Brenda, I will be praying for you and your son!

  4. Brenda, I'm not familiar with that song.. but I love the lyrics you shared. And how true!!! Now I look at the picture I posted today with different eyes.. that the ship may look to be in trouble with its anchor is firm--firm upon the rock that is Jesus and it will not be moved!! I'm so glad you went up for prayer and feel relief in your spirit over your fears for your son. I know this battle all too well in my own life and it has taken me years to come to the place of total submission and trust. Even so, sometimes I begin to fear again.. it's a constant storm that is raging. But yes, God does HOLD US and HE will not let go!!

Thank you Emma for dropping by!!

  5. Thank-you Emma for your prayers, and, thank-you MaryLu for what you shared !!!
Well, if you type inside one of the Google boxes on the MSN home-page, and type in "The Anchor Holds - lyrics" .... a page will come up with all of the versions of "The Anchor Holds" -- and Ray Boltz is the Christian singer for that particular song. The music, abd words are so powerful ... and I can totally identify with them !!! (And, the lyrics are printed out too. I typed them out, and am now carrying them around in my purse with me.) Thank-you for allowing me to share so much today.
