Wordless Wednesday!

  1. Wed Sept 26th,
    "Morning, MaryLu."
Well ... this is just most interesting and intriguing !!! A lady pirate, maybe ??? Oh, the background is so eery looking ... with the fog and clouds 'almost' hiding the pirate ship. Notice the skull and crossbones atop the ship ! "Me don't thinks me'd like to mess with the likes of this woman ... a force to be reckoned with, indeed" !!!
Very cool picture, and, so very different ! (Where did this one come from, MaryLu ?)
    Thanks for sharing.
    Take care, and, God Bless,
    In Him, Brenda Hurley

  2. I know wordless wednesday's are supposed to be thought provoking... this will certainly provoke some thoughts... but sadly, not holy ones... I pray a man doesn't come upon your blog today else they'll need to ask God to forgive their thoughts... Sorry, I don't mean to offend but she's basically spilling out of her corset thingy. I guess pictures of ships are much safer and pure thought friendly than that of lady pirates...

  3. I really appreciate you modifying the picture. Again, I meant no offense in my above comment, it just sort of smacked you and was hard to look anywhere else. God bless you.

  4. Anonymous, I am sure that when MaryLu is done redoing this cover, it will be fantastic. She always takes others opinions into consideration. Once this woman's hair is changed to red, it will depict her novel "The Red Siren" perfectly.

  5. Thanks for your comments, Ladies!! For your enthusiasm, Brenda, as always! Honestly I didn't find the picture offensive at all... but I realize we are all different and come from different backgrounds and different churches.. etc. However, I certainly don't want to offend anyone or lead any male viewers astray!! This blog is meant to encourage believers, not offend them. So, please accept my sincere apology. My thanks to Chaplain Debbie for altering the picture a bit and making it more presentable.

  6. I really like this, it is nearly perfect for a book cover.
The girl almost looks like my character in my book. Of course she wears more masculine clothing.
    Good choice, MaryLu.
    :)

    Have a lovely week.

  7. Neat, cool design...but umm kind of weird at the same time. How about a grogeous male pirate!

  8. I love this for "The Red Siren" and with the hair colour change, it would be perfect! Had to chuckle and smile at the wardrobe adjustment! Well done Chaplain Debbie! :) Because, the thought that went through my head was, "How on earth does she fight in that dress?" If it was me, I'd be constantly pausing the brawl, saying "Wait!" as I pushed myself back down into the corset. Don't need those falling out of the get-up now, do we? ... All humour aside, modesty is a good thing. (Although, a modest female pirate would be hard to come by, I'd think! Except for our lovely Red Siren!)
Thanks for the interesting discussion on this one ladies. :)

  9. Yes, Male pirates are definitely more appealing. LOL. And I must say, you made me laugh, Caroline. Thanks.. I needed that today! I'm sure if her breasts plunged out of her corset during a sword fight. she might actually win because her male opponent would just be standing there drooling. :-)

  10. I am in the process of writing a short story of a lady pirate-who proves more deadly than any of her former shipmates had once thought. My mom asked me to write something to amuse her while she was sick. I'm afraid that my lady pirate doesn't have a good reason for pirating as Faith did in the Red Siren. I'm still trying to figure out how to bring her to "the light". :)
    Love the pic!
