Isn't it GORGEOUS??? My friend and fellow author and designer extraordinaire, Dineen Miller, designed it. She's so talented. My jaw dropped when I first saw it. Here's her website, if you'd like to see the books she writes. Dineen Miller
And here is the back cover synopsis of the storyline. This is a sequel to my original pirate series, but it is NOT necessary that you read those books first. However, it would make me very happy. LOL
I, for one, am quite thrilled to be back in the Caribbean again!
Port Royal, Jamaica
1692
Living in a city deemed the wickedest in the world is no
easy task for Miss Juliana Dutton. To make matters worse, with an ailing father
and a drunken fool for a brother, she is forced to take over the running of the
family business in order to survive. When a meddlesome suitor threatens to
discover her secret and cast them all onto the streets, she agrees to a
spurious engagement with the town buffoon, Lord Munthrope. She only hopes the
man is trustworthy.
Alexander Hyde, son of the infamous Captain Edmund Merrick
Hyde, is the most feared pirate in Port Royal. Disillusioned with the religion
of his parents and the pleasures of the world, Alex staves off his emptiness by
leading a dual life as both the pretentious dandy, Lord Munthrope, and the
feared Pirate Earl.
A long-time enemy is out to destroy Alex and take Juliana
for his own. Yet could their problems be a Divine hand leading them down a path
of escape? Or when an earthquake strikes, will they be doomed with the rest of
Port Royal to be swallowed up by the sea?
So, what do you think? Love the cover? Sound like something you'd like to read? This book releases in early March. If you'd like to keep up with specials I'll be having and information on my new releases, please sign up for my email newsletter on the right side of this page. I'll be having a pre-release party here on my blog every Friday for a month starting on February 14th (Valentine's day!) and going through March 7th during which I'll be giving away free copies.
Happy sailing and have a great weekend!

DeleteHi, MaryLu!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the book cover - it's beautiful! Looking forward to reading some of your books when I finish my reading marathon of Julie's books (as I mentioned to you on a Facebook comment tonight)! Your books are unlike any I have ever read - but have such interesting story lines, and I've heard the descriptions, and suspense, are unbelievable!
I read, and was SO touched by your testimony - it mirrors my own, in a lot of ways! I was raised in a Christian home - but never felt loved by my father, growing up, and made all the wrong choices - including multiple marriages - searching for that love. The Lord used a Passion Play (musical drama) on the life of Christ to draw me back to Him - after my life hit bottom, and I admitted that "my" plan wasn't working. I became a cast member of that Passion Play in 1996, and it was the most spiritually rewarding experience of my life!! Like you, it is my purpose in life to draw others closer to Him - by using my testimony, and words of encouragement. He has been SO faithful to me - I pray that my life reflects Him!
May you be richly blessed as you bless others, MaryLu!!
Bonnie! I never knew "bonton" was you! Anyway, hello again! I rarely meet anyone with a similar testimony to mine... though I wouldn't wish that on anyone... but I'm so glad to know you.. and to hear how God drew you back into His arms. He's incredible, isn't He? Bless you for your testimony and ministry for Him! And enjoy Julie's books. She's awesome!!
DeleteMaryLu, I sent you a reply through email but will repeat it here. I love the cover! And I'm so glad to get back to the Caribbean with your new book! I look forward to reviewing it. I will soon be finishing the polishing of my pirate novel and shopping around for an agent. Have any suggestions? Hugs, Elva Martin
ReplyDeleteHi Elva.. my fellow pirate writer! Sent you a private note. :-)

DeleteHi MaryLu. Looking forward to this new book that takes place again in your pirate world. Those were the first books I read of yours, and now automatically buy new ones by you. Still my favorite series of yours, though your new series is second and I really enjoyed Veil of Pearls. Will this be in paperback? Oh, please say yes. I still like paperback better.
ReplyDeleteYes... this will be in paperback too. I know many people still prefer to hold a book in their hands and keep it on their shelf. Thanks, Boos Mum! :-)
