Death has lost its sting

O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:33

You may not see the connection between the verse and picture, but I lost a very precious cat yesterday. Her name was Hershey and she had been in our family for 10 years and was very very precious to me. I sat and petted her while she breathed her last and afterward all I wanted to do was find a cave much like this one and crawl into it.  Hence the picture. The verse you can figure out.  Some day ALL death will be defeated when Jesus returns to create His Kingdom on Earth!!

  1. Hallelujah, death has lost it's sting! I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, and I'll continue praying for you. This post reminds me of Kari Jobe's new song "Forever". I hope you have a happy Easter!

  2. Wed Apr 16th,
    "Hey, MaryLu" ....
Thanks for sharing both the -- verse, and the picture. I can well appreciate how you must have felt -- that of just wanting to crawl into a cave. Each day you wil be well aware of the hole that is left, with Hershey's loss. I hope you have many wonderful and fond memories plus great photos of her, to commemorate her time with your family.
And yes, one day ... ALL death will be defeated when Jesus returns to create His Kingdom on Earth ... Amen and Amen !
Take care, and, God Bless, In Him, Brenda

  3. Thank you for the beautiful picture and the verse, MaryLu!! Saying a prayer for your heart's healing - losing a pet is traumatic - they give unconditional love!! I don't know your feelings on it, but Randy Alcorn believes there will be pets in heaven as they are one of God's more wonderful creations - a hope to hold onto!! Hugs to you, dear one - God knows your pain!!

  4. Thank you, Ladies, for your kind words and prayers. They mean so much to me. :-) I'm feeling a little better today but still in my cave. Bonnie, I agree with Randy about pets being in heaven! I believe God will save the pets of His people and we'll be greeted by all of them when we arrive. If I didn't believe that, I'd be even more miserable now. It comforts me a great deal to know Hershey is in a far better place. Thanks so much.. Hugs...

  5. I am so sorry for you losing Hershey :( We lost our precious little kitty Shannon in September. They are so special, loyal and loving. I so believe the Lord will reunite us with them and we have asked the Lord at times if it is possible to give her a kiss for us. *hug*

    1. Thank you so much Sheila. I'm so sorry about Shannon. I share your grief, but also your joy that we will see our precious kitties again. I will ask the Lord to kiss Hershey for me too. What a lovely idea. I don't see why he wouldn't!
