Do you realize who you are?

If you're a believer in Jesus and have given your life to Him, then the Holy Spirit of God lives INSIDE of  you.  This isn't something we are seriously taught in most churches.  I've heard pastors brush over the topic but not really expound on what it truly means.  Often we will sing songs in church praying for a "fresh anointing" of the Spirit or praying for the Holy Spirit to come down and flood our hearts and our church.  The truth is, that's anti-Biblical.  We don't have to beg the Holy Spirit to visit us. He already lives inside each of us.

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?  1 Corinthians 3:16


Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you. 2 Tim 1:14

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

The same power that walked on water, raised the dead, healed diseases, opened the eyes of the blind, cast out demons, and preached the Kingdom of God... that same Spirit and Power that lived in Jesus, lives in us.  Let that sink in for a moment. 

In Matthew 10 Jesus said that His disciples were LIKE Him. 
In 1 John 4:17, the apostle John says "...as He is, so are we in the world."  

This means that to Satan and his demons, we are like Jesus. No, we aren't perfect like Him, not by any means, nor are we God. But because of God's Spirit inside of us, we are like mini-Jesus's running around the earth. Can you imagine how upset this makes our enemy? 

In Mark 16 Jesus commissioned His disciples to "go into all the world and preach the gospel.." He then said. "These signs will accompany those who believe in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

That's us, folks!  We are God's ambassadors. Why? Because we have His Spirit living inside of us, giving us the power to set people free. Not us, but by His power.  Yet, so many Christians today seem utterly powerless and defeated, either by life, circumstances or the enemy.  Yes, we are weak humans and sinful humans and in our own strength we can hardly do anything. But remember you have the Spirit of the living God living INSIDE of you!!  Say that over and over every day until it gets through to your heart.  Nothing is impossible for you. Why? Because Nothing is impossible for God. 

Jesus often said that "your faith has made you well.."   "according to your faith"  to so many of the people he ministered to.  He also said  
"....for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you."

Perhaps if we truly believed God's Holy Spirit lived inside of us, if we truly had faith that was true, then we would live more powerful and victorious lives!
