And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts

2 Peter 1:18-19

  1. I love how you used the angler fish in the picture above, as it goes well with "as a light that shines in a dark place," Just goes to remind me that even in the darkest depths of the vast oceans, God is there, shining His light.

  2. My grandkids love a cartoon called Splash and Bubbles. There is an Angler fish in it, so when I saw this picture I knew it was a perfect way to show what you just said very nicely. :-)

  3. Reading this beautiful verse brought to my mind a very special time when I was in deep prayer with God. This happened years ago but it is as fresh in my mind as it was then. I was a very new believer of 6 months and my life started to go down hill. I came home from work and discovered my husband had packed up and left me. Then my brother died. Then I guess from the stress I could hardly walk my ankles and legs were swollen and painful. A few months later I was in prayer with God. I thanked God for the good things in my life, then thanked Him for the bad things in my life and then thanked Him for the things in my life that I did not understand. Then I was quiet before Him. Then I heard these words -- " You gave your children spinach when they were small - they did not like it but it was essential for their growth." My eyes flew open and I knew that this time in my life was essential for my spiritual growth. So I can relate to hearing a voice. I have shared this at a Women's Retreat , and different groups. I just gave you a portion of that time. I ended it with. Not only how good God is, but if I was eating that plate of spinach I was going to put vinegar on it cause that's how I like my spinach. God is so good. He is so awesome to be able let me know He cares and was with me by pointing out that little statement -- you gave your kids spinach.
He is a loving Father. I am so thankful I was quiet before Him. 💕

    1. What a great story, Elsie!! It sounds like something the Father would say! So hard to sit and be still before Him, but so worth it when He speaks. :-)
