Greetings everyone! Today we are very privileged to have a guest who is not only a fabulous author but a good friend of mine! Please give a warm welcome to Debbie Lynne Costello! Read about her new release, Sword of the Matchmaker, test your skills with Medieval and Scottish terms, and enter to win a free copy and also a Kindle Fire or Amazon gift certificate!.
First a little about the book!
Penelope Beatty made up her mind long ago she would live and die a Scottish warrior not a wife. But when nearly all her clan is killed and she is betrayed, she loathes doing the unthinkable, but must seek the help of an Englishman who owed her father’s his life.
Thomas Godfrey never married, but when a Scottish warrior lass shows up needing his aid, he finds her both annoying and irresistible. But the last thing he wants is to marry a woman who fights alongside him. If he was going to marry—which he isn’t—it would be to a soft, submissive woman. But when the Lady Brithwin meets the Scottish lass, she’s sure she’s found the perfect match for Thomas and nothing is going to stop her from seeing a summer wedding.
(MaryLu here: I recently finished the book and loved every minute of it. If you like medievals and romance, you'll love this book! )

MaryLu, Thank you so much for having me on your blog. I’m super excited about my new release. It’s the first novella I’ve written. I’m pretty long winded so writing a novella hadn’t been on my radar. That is until I had a chance to be in a novella collection with Forget-Me-Not publishing. I have always felt like Thomas from Sword of Forgiveness needed his own story. If you’ve read the first book in the Winds of Change Series then you already know Thomas and hopefully fell in love with his character. But I promise you, you will see a side of the handsome knight you haven’t seen before. I had a lot of fun meeting back up with all the characters of Sword of Forgiveness. And Brithwin is up to her old tricks only this time Thomas is the one she has her sights aimed on and he won’t walk away unscathed I assure you.
Everyone who answers one of the questions below will be entered to win a copy of Sword of the Matchmaker. Be sure to leave your email so I can contact you should you win. Make sure you enter into the rafflecopter for a Kindle fire and other fun gifts. Thank you, again for having me over, MaryLu!
Do you like to read novellas? I’d love to hear why or why not.

Sounds like an interesting story. I got 22 out of 26. Who knew that reading all those books by Liz Curtis Higgs and Melanie Dickerson would teach me so much vocabulary! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Christine! Two great authors! 22 is awesome. Thanks for coming by. I hope you check out my books in the Winds of Change series. I love the medieval time period.
ReplyDeleteHey Debbie, I've not read a book of yours so I'm excited to read your novella. I like novellas because sometimes I just want to dive into a story that won't take too long to ready, but still get the satisfaction of a full length book. Thank you!
ReplyDeletedanajeweler@ymail.com
Hey Dana! Hopefully you'll love Sword of the Matchmaker so much it will make you want to read Sword of Forgiveness. :) Thanks for coming by and good luck in the giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI like novellas so that I can sample new authors to see how they write and if their stories interest me before purchasing or reading other books they've written. Also, it's sometimes nice to read shorter stories in between other books in my TBR pile, to offer a sense of accomplishment. HA! HA!
ReplyDeleteI love medieval romances and have recently finished Tamara Leigh's most recent book. Knights fighting for honor and the women they love...what's not to love??
I got 17 answers correct. Thanks for the fun quiz and a chance to win your book.

Hey Amy! thanks for coming by. I love your sense of accomplishment. I'm with you there. LOL> 17 answers correct is pretty good! Good luck in the giveaway. Be sure to stop by the other blogs on the tour for more chances to win. You can find the complete list on the sidebar of my blog.
DeleteLove the sounds of this story and love medieval stories
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa, Thank you for visiting. It's good to see so many medieval fans!! As I said above, be sure to stop by the other blogs on the tour for more chances to win.
DeleteI like novellas for a quick read. Also when I want to try out an author or read a prequel to round out a series.
ReplyDeleteHey Paula! Its been fun to see why so many people like novellas. Thank you for sharing and good luck!
DeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI got thirteen of the answers right. And only thanks to other novels I've read. :) I plan to write down the ones I couldn't get for future reference.
Thanks for having this giveaway. Your novella sounds awesome.
God Bless,
Lindsi
Thank you, Lindsi! I put a glossary in the front of all my books. I remember looking words up in a dictionary back when I first started reading medievals. So I decided that I would save my readers that problem. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for sharing the Amazon Kindle gift certificate that will help me to have things awesome and read the interesting kind of books.
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by. Good luck in the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI got 19 correct on the quiz! The medieval time period is one of my favorites to read. I look forward to reading this novella. I'm one of those readers that once I start a good book, I can't out it down. So if I have a busy schedule, the option of a novella keeps my guilt factor down because I can finish in a couple of hours! ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Kathy! 19 is great! I could get lost in medieval books and not come up for days, myself. I hope you get a chance to read Sword of the Matchmaker AND Sword of Forgiveness.;-)
DeleteYour books and novella sound very interesting. I hope to win but will go ahead and check out your other books too. I tried the rafflecopter thingie but don't see how it works. So will hope for the best and try again. Thanks! Molly
ReplyDeleteHey Molly. Thanks for checking out my other books!! Good luck in the novella giveaway. Were you able to figure out the rafflecopter? Let me know if you can't and maybe I can walk you through it!
DeleteI haven't read much medieval fiction, I only got 14 out of 26 right...
ReplyDeleteI don't read a lot of novellas, but I have found that I do like to use my Kindle for that. For some reason I don't read many full length books on it, but I do enjoy reading novellas on it.
Hey Patty, If you don't read much medieval fiction then you did great! I have a kindle too, but find I don't use it a lot either. There is something about a book in my hands... Thanks for coming by and good luck!
DeleteI loved reading this book. I enjoyed reading about Thomas' story. I was just a little sad it went so quickly for me. I think I read too fast sometimes when I get excited about the story. Sometimes I like reading novellas because I enjoy shorter stories now and then. But I don't like them as much if I fall in love with the characters and want more of their story.
ReplyDeleteI got 21 right on the quiz. I have read a lot of medieval fiction books. :)
Wow Dani! 21 is great! You made my day! I love to hear a reader is sorry to see the story end! It means I did my job. :o) Thank you so much for sharing and good luck in the giveaways!
DeleteI read through the whole posting about your new novella and the quiz and even the answers without thinking. So I just want to say congratulations and this novella sounds great. I think I have found a new author and new books to read! I will be getting them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elsie! It's always a good feeling to see one of my new books get published. I'm excited that you're going to start reading my books! That is great to hear. Good luck in the Rafflecopter!
DeleteEvidently I need to read more medieval books! I only got 4 answers right. I like to read novellas if I don't have much free time otherwise I like full length books. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLOL! The good news, Donna is that if you read my books I have a glossary in the front of them so you can look the word up. Good luck in the giveaway! Random number is about to choose a winner.
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to reading this on my summer vacation! My facebook is Tracie Michelle Cooper and my email is traciemcooper0515@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like it will be an interesting adventure.
