Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal

Matthew 6:19-20

  1. I think of this verse often. Yes, we like our material 'treasures' but we should remember they are exactly that -material and not worth a plug nickel in the scheme of God's glory and the treasure of his love.

  2. When I read this verse it brought back memories of almost 30 years ago. I was a brand new follower of Jesus Christ and I was sitting in work(bank) processing Checks etc through a computerized machine and a check with that very same verse came by. As I read the verse, another person came around checking to see if I wanted to play the office pool. I hesitated as the thought came to me--" If a won the pool I could really put it to a good use". I looked at that check and that verse and knew I could not play that $1.00 in that pool. I was convicted and Blessed at the same time. I know it was just a dollar, and I was going through a hard time in my life. And He was showing me in this simple way--"Trust Me--I will see you have all you need."
And He did!!! He walked with me through that difficult valley and into the sunlight of His Blessings.

    1. What a lovely story, Elsie! And a great victory for one so new in the Lord. He ALWAYS provides. I've walked with Him 25 years and He's never let me down. As long as I seek Him with all my heart. :-)
