For those of you excitedly waiting for Jesus to come get His Bride, I want to offer you a little encouragement. We hear prophecies, watch the sign around us, and see the Jewish Feast days come and go and still no Jesus. I admit to having high hopes for this Spring and especially Passover or Pentecost. But here we find ourselves at the beginning of summer. One thing I've learned recently is that in ancient Israel, Jews never got married on Holy Feast days, hence a wedding could never occur on one of God's Holy Appointments with man as described in Leviticus 23. Not only did they never get married on Holy Feast days, but they also never had a wedding during Harvest season.
Jesus often referred to His followers as wheat or crops. I don't have time to list all the parables He told that involved harvesting. The most famous one is in Matthew 13, the parable of the sower and the wheat and the tares.
Other parables are found in Matthew 9, 21 and 25 and throughout the Gospels
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”Matthew 9:37
The end time "harvest" is mentioned in Revelation 14:15
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
I could go on, but you get the point. The taking of souls to heaven is described throughout Scripture as a harvest. (Also there is a grape harvest at the end of the age for unbelievers) The Wheat Harvest in Israel begins in May/June and ends in June/July so we are not out of the harvest time yet. It is my personal opinion that the rapture will occur during the summer wheat harvest (or shortly after) although several theologians believe it will happen on Rosh Hashana or Yom Teruah in the fall, a.k.a. Feast of Trumpets. I'm open to that but I believe that day is when the Tribulation begins. This year? I don't know. It sure seems that way to me.
Here are some other hints of a summer harvest of saints found in Scripture. These passages are believed by many to be rapture passages
My beloved spoke, and said to me:
“Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away.
For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grapes
Give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away!
Solomon 2
Note: Grapes and First green figs are ripe in July
I went down to the grove of nut trees
to look at the new growth in the valley,
to see if the vines had budded
or the pomegranates were in bloom.
Before I realized it,
my desire set me among the royal chariots of my people.
Solomon 6
to look at the new growth in the valley,
to see if the vines had budded
or the pomegranates were in bloom.
Before I realized it,
my desire set me among the royal chariots of my people.
Solomon 6
Note: Here we see the bride searching for Jesus and as she finds him, she is whisked away in a royal chariot. Many scholars believe this is about the rapture. Pomegranates are ripe in August but Bloom from May - July
Now in Micah 7:1
Woe is me!
For I am like those who gather summer fruits,
Like those who glean vintage grapes;
There is no cluster to eat
Of the first-ripe fig which my soul desires.
The faithful man has perished from the earth,
For I am like those who gather summer fruits,
Like those who glean vintage grapes;
There is no cluster to eat
Of the first-ripe fig which my soul desires.
The faithful man has perished from the earth,
The word "Perished" here is 'abad and it means "vanished"
Note: He's looking for first ripe figs which only happen in July
Then in Jesus's own words in Matthew 24 concerning the rapture.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
Note: Is Jesus giving us a hint at the season of the rapture? Men in the field harvesting? Women grinding the wheat at the mill? Nothing is in the Bible by accident.
Another really cool and interesting fact is what the number 2020 means in Hebrew.

So, you see, I believe we are still in the harvest season through the end of July. Do I believe the rapture could occur this year? I do. I base that off of Noah's 120 year warning and the Psalms, both of which I have covered before but may do so again for those who missed it. However, God is in control and His timing is perfect! If we get to the fall and are still here, then I will set my sights on next spring/summer. In the meantime, whether we think Jesus is coming in the next few months or next year or five years from now, we must be about our Father's business. God has given each of us special talents to be used here on earth to help save souls and add more wheat to the harvest! If you don't know what yours is, ask Him. If you do, then use it with all your might to help bring in this final harvest!
I made NO apology for watching for my Lord's return. The modern church has done a huge disservice to believers by not preaching about this and making people aware that we are the final generation. There is a special reward for those who watch and wait for the Lord.
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:27-28
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Tim 4:8
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Tim 4:8
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who made the good confession before Pontius Pilate, to keep all His precepts without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about in His own time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign the King of those who reign as kings and Lord of those who rule as lords, 1 Tim 6:13-15
Amen! Maranantha!
Amen!
ReplyDeleteI am so ready to go home. Unfortunately, I have loved ones who are lost and very stubborn. Ugh! Lord, help them see the truth!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, my friend.
Me too! I have many in my family who are lost. We keep praying! God does not withhold anything good from those who love Him. Psalm 84
