Tell my Children, Do not Fear. It's Going to be Okay

Recently, there have been multiple prophecies from very reliable pastors and prophets who have all predicted the same future events. Normally, I would not put much credence on just one prophecy, especially if I didn't know the person, but when you get 2 or 3 and one of those is a pastor I would trust with my life, well, then you have my attention. Without going into detail, the last 5 months of this year are going to be horrendous for America and probably the world. More waves of Covid-19 that are much more deadly, riots, economic collapse and even war on our shores.  Now, some of these things I believe can be stopped or at least lessened or delayed, but God's people MUST get on our knees, fast, pray, repent, and beg for God's mercy. If we don't.... well, I don't want to think about the consequences.

I was talking the the Lord about all of this the other day because I was feeling really down, sad, even depressed, and if I admit it, slightly terrified. Now, mind you, I'm not the type to get depressed or even fearful, but there's just so much going on right now in the world and in my own life with loved ones, I guess I'm not as strong as I think I am. You know what Scripture the Lord directed me to? Romans 8.  So I picked up my Bible and read it out loud.

Of course most of us know the famous verse 28 that says.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose

I did a little deep dive into the Greek.

All things -pas - each, every, any, all, the whole, everyone, all things, everything
Work Together - synergeō - to put forth power together with and thereby to assist,
Good - agathos - good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy
The Called - klētos - Invited to a banquet, invited (by God in the proclamation of the Gospel) to obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom through Christ
To His Purpose - prothesis -the setting forth of a thing, placing of it in view

Therefore, we could rephrase this as
Everything in your life, that includes Everything, your family, your lost loved ones, your health, your finances, your job, your relationships.. Everything is in the process of being worked out with God's power and assistance for a good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful and happy ending  for you who love God and have been invited by God to attend his wedding banquet according to his plan of salvation which He has shown in plain view of the world.

Did you see the word EVERYTHING?  That's what the Lord wants you to know. Everything that you are concerned about now, everything you fear, everything you worry about, everything is being worked out to a perfect, good, happy conclusion!

But there's a catch.  You'll find this verse sandwiched in between two very important messages. The verses that come before it give you the conditions you must meet in order to claim this promise. I'll list a few here, but I challenge you to get alone with God and read this chapter for yourself

  • We must not walk according to the Flesh, but according to the Spirit of God
  • We must have our minds on the things of God and the Spirit
  • Those who live according to the flesh and are carnally minded do not please God
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. verses/ 13-14

If we are led by the Holy Spirit, if we do not indulge our sinful flesh, if we put to death the deeds of the body, we will live! Not only live but we can call God, Father!

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” v 15

Once Paul has laid the foundation of what true salvation looks like, he then starts talking about how we yearn and groan along with all of creation for the Lord's coming and His reign on earth.

The final verses after the 28th are so precious to me. They talk of God's Incredible love for His Children and how nothing and no one could ever separate us from God's love!  But I will leave you with this final verse. Think about it. If you have children, think about how hard it would be to put your son or daughter through what Jesus went through. Not for friends either, but God willingly gave Jesus up to be rejected and tortured more than any other human has been.... for enemies.

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? v. 32

This is what the Lord wants me to tell you. There is much fear and uncertainty and violence in the world today. It has NOT taken Him bu surprise. He knows. He understands. He sees exactly where you are, and He knows all your concerns. Cling to Him, stay close to Him, pray at all times, and He promises that Everything is going to be OKAY!  Better than okay. Though we may have to endure a little suffering, those of us who know Jesus will soon be rescued from this place and be escorted to a city that will blow your socks off.

Jesus says this to you, individually!

Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
