The Revelation 12 Sign and the Fig Tree Prophecy!

Some of you may remember a post I made here on this blog back in 2016 about a very important sign in the heavens that appeared on September of 2017. This particular sign was described in great detail by the Apostle John in Revelation 12.  I don't want to go into all the cool things about that sign here, but I did a deep dive into it, the meaning, and the Greek meaning of words HERE.  I encourage you to glance through it. This sign actually happened and appeared in the heavens above us. Many, including myself hoped that this sign meant the rapture would occur, but obviously we were wrong.  Many believers fell away after that and either drifted from the Lord or stopped following Him altogether. The person who first discovered the Biblical significance of that sign has since gone onto into weird anti-biblical doctrines.

For me, I scratched my head, shrugged my shoulders and kept watching! Honestly, we don't need a sign in the stars to tell us we are the last generation and that we are close to the Lord's return.

I truly believe that the Revelation 12 sign WAS and IS highly significant and was a sign from God, a warning to the world to wake up, repent, and turn to Him. The sign was EXTREMELY rare and as you'll see from my article, hadn't occurred in 2000 years. It's hard to believe that it's been 4 years since that sign appeared!  Since it was a warning, many thought it should be a 3 year warning, since 3 has great significance in the Bible. But 2020 came and went, though we saw the first wave of great judgement fall on the entire world that year.

So what does it all mean? If the sign was a warning, how long will God give the world before the Tribulation starts?

Then the Lord led me to the Parable of the Barren Fig Tree found in Luke 13. Jesus speaking

He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’  But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”

First of all, the Scriptures are clear that the Fig Tree represents Israel. I know there are some out there saying it doesn't, but the Bible interprets the Bible.  Here's an article I wrote on this subject years ago.Is Israel the Fig Tree?   But a search of figs or Fig tree in the Scripture will prove it to you.

Whenever Jesus spoke of farming and vineyards in parables, He was talking about people who either followed Him and produced fruit or those who didn't. Here, He is obviously speaking about Israel. For 3 years, he came looking for figs but found none. The the gardener begs him for one more year before Jesus cuts it down.

Obviously Jesus is saying here that He gave Israel 3 years to repent and turn back to Him. But 3 years after what? Obviously He must have given them some warning, something they should have seen, heard, and heeded. I believe that sign was the Revelation 12 Sign. Yes, I know it is described in the New Testament, but it was to the Jewish people that God gave all the information about the stars and constellations and what they mean.   (The Jewish Mazzaroth) If they were looking at the movement of the stars, they would have seen that sign.

So 3 years pass and 2020 comes and still Israel has not repented. (nor the entire world for that matter because the sign was also for the gentiles)  So the gardener begs for one more year. One more year in which he will fertilize the fig tree. And guess what happened in that final year of 2020?  The entire world suffered a pandemic, a judgement which should have opened eyes to Biblical prophecy and the existence of God.

So, now we are 4 years past the Revelation 12 sign. Has Israel turned to Jesus? Has the world repented and turned back to God? No. Could this parable be telling us that our 4 years is almost up and the Tribulation is coming? I don't know, but it seems likely.

Update: I have discovered two more Scriptures that reference FOUR. BOTH deal with resurrection and harvest!

First the resurrection of Lazarus, who was in the grave FOUR days

Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” John 11:38=-39

And after Jesus met the woman at the well

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! John 4:25

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the unrepentant world, this is bad news, but for those of us who love the Lord with all our heart and follow Him and who have kept our lamps filled with oil and lit, it is the best news ever!

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

  1. Wild guess when that 4 years is up. September and then what happens to the tree and the world - judgment. Thank you for posting this information Marylu. It is a very timely reminder that there is one thing left to happen before the tribulation starts and that is the rapture. Pam

  3. Oh I am so ready! Sometimes I feel like the Earth is shuddering around me in anticipation too. The rocks cry out to God... There just seems to be some shift in the Earth and all these weather "events" are just bringing us closer. Could be the Feast of Trumpets is our day to meet Jesus. I sure pray so, if not sooner. I heard Australia just went into an 80% strict lock down. And Israel's C19 V's aren't working, people getting the Delta and real sick. They are probably facing another lock down soon. If we are going to be eating and marrying like the time of Noah, it could be any moment now, as the lock downs will prevent that from happening. Good share, Sister. Blessing to you and those you love. Cillie

    1. Crazy times, aren't they, Cillie? The variants now coming out in full speed.. the vaccine not working, but instead killing people. More masks, lockdowns, food shortages.. and riots like the one in SA which I am hearing was all planned. The Lord must rescue His Bride soon! And yes, I sense the earth shuddering too. Blessings to you, Sis

  4. Thank you for this - I felt the astronomical sign was of massive significance because the Book of Revelation described it in minute detail. Your post here, plus the youtube video, by Rock Island Books, on the Fig Tree Prophecy/Daniels 70th week (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi7DD6NCGrI) have dovetailed together for me. Thank you! Optimism for the dark times.
