Be Careful that the Light that is in You is not Darkness!

No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.  The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.  Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.  If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”  Luke 11:33-36

I read the above passage over the weekend and the underlined Scripture leapt out at me. So, it's possible to have a kind of LIGHT within you that is actually Darkness. Think about that for a minute.

You could be going through life thinking that you are following the right path, that you are on the road of truth, while in reality, you are on the dark path to destruction. The important things that you believe to be true are actually completely false. That's a frightening thought.

I think too many believers think that our enemy is an ugly beast with pointed teeth and horns and scales, but the Bible gives a completely different picture of satan.

You were the seal of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes
Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
“You were the anointed cherub who covers;
I established you;
You were on the holy mountain of God;
You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till iniquity was found in you. Ezekiel 28:12-15

Satan was and probably still is very beautiful. He's a creature covered in brilliant gemstones, perfect and mesmerizing.

The name lucifer, meaning "the morning star", "the planet Venus", or, as an adjective, "light-bringing". It is a translation of the Hebrew word הֵילֵל, hêlēl, meaning "Shining One".

This is what those who worship him call him, The light bearer, the shining one. They believe he is the good guy and our God is the bully. I've seen this title "Light bearer" as referring to Lucifer in several of their writings. To those who worship him, he is the light and not God.

And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light; 2 Corinthians 11:14

The first thing Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24 when his disciples asked Him about the end times was deception. He said  “Take heed that no one deceives you" If this was Jesus's number 1 thing to mention and we know we are in the last days, then I would say we all need to be extra vigilant.

Remember many many people (in fact, most of the world) will follow after the Antichrist.

So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:4

 And through his policy he shall cause trickery to prosper in his hand; he shall magnify himself in his heart and mind, and in their security he will corrupt and destroy many. He shall also stand up against the Prince of princes, but he shall be broken and that by no [human] hand. Daniel 8:25

Notice the words "In their security". The King James version uses the phrase "by peace".

This is a man whom the world loves at first. A man who is worshiped because he brings peace. But he is a liar and he will deceive many by his policy and his words.

This is not going to be a man who appears evil. He is going to be a man who comes against the current evil elite rulers. He's a man who will promote freedom, democracy, free speech, low taxes, etc. He will promise to clean up corruption in government.  This is a man of the people.   He will appear to be LIGHT. He will appear to be fighting darkness.

This is the light that, in reality, is darkness. Many Christians will follow him, thinking God has ordained him to fight against evil. Yes, I believe many Christians will worship the Antichrist at first. By Christians I am saying those lukewarm or unsaved tares who will be left behind after the rapture. Why do I believe they will follow the AC? Because I see many of them already worshipping a man whom they believe will save our country.

What happens when millions of people disappear, but your pastor tells you, using and twisting Scripture to prove it, that the non-Christians were taken and the real Christians left. He then goes on to say that Jesus wants the true church now to take over the world for the Kingdom of God and He is using (insert AC's name here) to lead the way.

If you don't have a close relationship with Jesus and don't know your Bible, you will fall for that. Many already have fallen for a multitude of false doctrines for those same reasons. Why not when this greatest deception of all is propagated?

This is the light that is really darkness. Be careful what you believe and who you follow. Not all who say the name of Jesus are sent from Him. We live in very deceptive and dangerous times.

Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.

  1. Greetings blessed Sister in Christ,
    The Lord often allows me to see this dark light in men. I saw it in the pastor of the church I was in. And in the associate pastor, and in most of those who graduated his minstry course. And he ordained them as pastors, and sent them out to administer this dark light. And they hide it well in their cunning way of presenting scripture that give's more power to the hearer than it does to the Creator !
    So your words bring to LIGHT for me all the things I heard and observed while in that church, as darkness. I was always leary of much of what I heard there. New ways of interpreting scripture. I originally thought it was something I had missed, something I was lacking in my understanding of the scripture.
    They preach just what you say here MaryLu. In the pre service prayer (which I was a part of) they would pray for the kingdom on earth, now ! Calling down heaven. And I know that Jesus prayed " Your Kingdom come", but their prayers had a sinister tone to them. They would pray for great revivals. When my turn to pray came, I would pray "Your will be done", and exhault God's name ! and many would 'amen' that as if they were waiting for someone bold enough to pray it, and that seemed to make many of the elders displeased.
    When I finally realized the evil deception of it I was angry. Maybe even at God for letting me go through it. But after some reflection I know now that God had blessed me by letting me see the truth. I believe it was for my testing. Praise Him who see's the bigining from the end !
    One of the reasons I am skeptical of revivals is because of the way they would pray for them. And because the pastor would preach God doent want you to be sick, if you are sick or poor it is a curse, and so they would pray healing over people, but no one was healed !!! I stepped away from these prayer groups because I could not agree with their theologies.
    Think about it, how good some of these things sound, right? Can poverty be a curse, sometime yes, but so cant wealth, sometimes. Paul said he learned to be content in either circumstance. David said, Psalm 119 it was good for me to be afflicted that I may learn your law, it was good the YOU afflicted me that I may know your ways.
    In the end MaryLu it's all about perspective. When i am weak, the HE is strong.
    Be blessed Sister according to His will for you today.

    1. So many have had bad experiences in the Apostate church of today, Brother. I know you were deeply wounded in yours and by this false pastor. I do believe in revivals, but not those orchestrated by man. Only the Holy Spirit can start and keep a true revival going! We've seen so called "revivals" come and go with little fruit. What a shame. I just learned of a good friend from my past who was a strong Christian but who has now walked away from God because of something that was done at her church! That's why we need to have our own relationship with Jesus and not rely on mankind at all. We need fellowship with other true Christians, but all truth comes from the Lord. I ask people to please don't rely on me or my posts for your walk with Jesus. Spend time with Him yourself, cultivate that intimacy with Him and test everything I say. I'm only human. Blessings to you!
