Nisan, the Month of New Beginnings!

We are now in the Month of Nisan on the Jewish Calendar. It used to be the 7th month of their year before Moses, but when God instituted the Passover in Egypt, He switched the months.

Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. Exodus 12:1-2

Unfortunately, Israel doesn't celebrate Nisan as the first month of the year, but rather Tishri, which falls around Sept-Oct in the fall. But God is the one who set Nisan as the New Year, so I'm following Him!

Here are some interesting things about the month of Nisan

  • Creation of the Universe
  • Noah. landed on Mount Ararat (Which means Reverse the Curse) on Nisan 17, which is also the day Jesus rose from the dead
  • Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were all born in Nisan and died in Nisan
  • Miriam Moses's sister died in Nisan
  • Nisan is the month Kings are coronated
  • Haman is hanged in story of Esther in Nisan
  • It is the month in which Barley is harvested
  • God made a covenant with Abraham in Nisan, giving the land of Israel to his descendants
  • Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the Lord until dawn in Nisan
  • Lot escaped from Sodom. How do we know Lot escaped in Nisan? Because Lot invited the two angels to his house for a meal and he made a feast for the angels and he baked and served them unleavened bread which they did eat (Genesis 19:3). Unleavened bread was made and eaten during Passover week!
  • God appeared to Moses in the burning bush
  • Passover occurs in Nisan on the 14th of the month. This is a very important feast and the first of the Jewish feast days to be announced and instituted. The Last Supper was a Passover supper in which Jesus said He would not drink wine until He drank it with His disciples in Heaven (Matthew 26:29)
  • The First Fruits wave offering, which occurs during the feast of Unleavened Bread. This feast begins on the 15th of Nisan and lasts for 7 days. A priest takes a sheaf of Barley and waves it before the Lord to be accepted. This is why Jesus told Mary not to touch Him in the garden, because He had to go present Himself to the Father to see if His sacrifice was accepted.
  • Red Sea Splits and Israel walks over on dry land.
  • First Tabernacle was erected in the dessert
  • Joshua and the Israelites crossed the Jordan river into the promised land, Joshua 5:10 speaks of the Israelites celebrating Passover after crossing the Jordan River on dry ground.
  • Jesus at age 12 amazed the religious scholars in Jerusalem on Passover. Luke 2:41
  • Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Nisan 10, fulfilling the Daniel 9:25 prophecy precisely to the day!
  • Jesus was crucified on Nisan 14, on Passover
  • Nisan is in Spring and is a time for weddings
  • Jesus rose from the dead on Nisan 17!

In addition, the sun is in Aries during the months of Adar and Nisan from March 21- April 19th

I posted about these constellations a few weeks ago.  Here are the Constellations of Aries

The Ram or the Lamb  (The Blessings of the Redeemed Consummated and Enjoyed)

Cassiopeia (The Enthroned Woman) The Captive delivered and preparing for her Husband and Redeemer. Last month in Pices, we saw this woman in chains. Now we see her delivered and enthroned!

Cetus (The Sea Monster) The Great Enemy Bound

Perseus (The Breaker) Delivering His Redeemed!

For more information on these constellations, I encourage you to read The Witness in the Stars by  EW Bullinger!

To me, this presents the perfect story of the Bride being delivered from the hands of the monster by our redeemer, Jesus and then being seated in the Heavenlies awaiting our wedding!   All this happens before April 20th!

Not setting a date!  However, you cannot deny that Nisan is a very interesting month!!

Keep looking up!!

  1. Greetings Sky Watcher of the Heavenly's, :)

Incredible all these astounding landmarks occured during Nisan . As a gardener I always see more clearly the works of God in action. What appeared to be dead. The tree's bare of it's leaves, the green grass of summer hidden beneath the cold icy crust covered snow, and all life seems to come to a stand still. Yet the Lord speaks and His winds change direction and blow the whole earth closer to the warmth, and life begins to stir again. Buds start to appear on the tree's. And stillness turns into suttle movements. And all things become new ! Yeah, we can definately see new beginings happening during this month.

You did leave out one incredible event though Sister, I was born in March ! :)

So I have a question Sister. You said Jesus came to "reverse the curse". Do you apply this to your later statement that Jesus had to present Himself to the Father for acceptable sacrifice. ( I really like that statement).
I'll tell you why I ask. I heard a brother say the healing portion of church one day. They were all jumping around and doing their antics. They often used terms like this to proclaim healing, name it and claim it, whether or not anyone was healed.
I asked him about this, he responded with a question; dont you believe in healing ?

Well of course I do. But I believe God heals at His desire. But I also believe that God is not a man that He should lie or the son of man that He should change His mind. But he made it sound like God made a mistake.God declared that man would toil the soil, women would have pain in childbirth, and the man's day's would be numbered. I dont see that physical curse over Adam and Eve's sin in the garden has changed. We still get sick and die. Personally I do not believe healing is in the atonement. Jesus gave us a better gift, eternal life. Yet I have seen people healed, and have recieved healings myself. I see more healings in my house when we pray for each other than I see in the churches.

Of course the curse of permenat death is removed by the work of the cross, in Christ.

What are your thoughts Sister ?

    1. Loved your description of Spring, Brother! And you were born in March too! Makes it all the more special. Yes, Jesus came to "reverse the curse!" The curse of sin of death, hell and the grave. And yes, even of sickness. But add to that, hopelessness, pain, sorrow, and all the frustrations of this sinful life. "to defeat the works of the devil" That's what Jesus said. But, like you stated, the ultimate fulfillment of that we don't see until after death (or the rapture) Meanwhile we are behind enemy lines and suffer in this fallen world. The difference between us and the world is that we have been translated into the Kingdom of God, not in body, but in Spirit and we are led by God's Spirit, even though we are still imprisoned in these clay bodies that yes, get sick and eventually die. God does heal! But He also allows illnesses for various purposes that are always for His glory and our good!
I'm not sure if I answered your question...?

  2. Hello Messenger of God,

Very intriguing post on the month of Nisan. It is fainting to know some well-known events in Christianity took place during Nisan. I believe it also has 30 days like our regular calendar does, but it is complex to pinpoint how it is viewed in terms of important dates and times. For instance, I read somewhere that while the Rapture may have potential to take place on a certain date, but it may be inaccurate possibly because it does not fall in line with God’s version of a Nisan calendar. That might be why no one would ever know the exact day or hour no matter how efficient their calculation methods are, but we are fairly certain that time is near.

I am also going to be on high alert for April in view of how the world is right now and from how persuading sources have been that the Rapture could be during the Nisan month. However, as we all know, no one will ever know the exact date and hour, so we will continue to keep our eyes open. It would be reasonable to feel it is ever so close since April is the Holy month with Passover, Good Friday, and Easter.

I realized that Rosh Hashanah this year is on 9/23/24, which is exactly eight years since the Revelation 12 sign was presumably fulfilled back in 2017. I do not know if it is a coincidence, but we will see as time goes.

I saw some news article about the president bragging about running a third or even “fourth” term. Such arrogance will be characteristic of the AC, isn’t it? Yet we cannot confirm AC’s real identity until the prophesied covenant is signed, which should likely be later this year considering the June 2025 conference is approaching.

Take care Sister for every day we are getting closer to seeing the Lord! Blessings! 🙏🏻

    1. Agreed. Who knows what the real calendar is anymore? We know our enemy has convoluted the calendars over the years. But we do have the seasons, and we know Nisan occurs during the first month of Spring, so we are at least on track.! Yes, it is a very holy and prophetic month, which is why I'm looking at it also. We may not know the exact day or hour, but we surely know the season, which by all the signs around us.. we can clearly see.
Interesting about Rosh Hashanah.. I hadn't realized that. Hard to believe it's been 8 years!

Yes, heard that about Trump, and yes, the AC, whoever he is, will have an ego the size of the planet! I do believe the "covenant" Daniel speaks of will happen this fall. But it could happen any time between now and then!

      We are getting close! Blessings!

  3. Hello Sister in Christ,

I enjoyed reading this post - it is like taking a Nisan 101 class. I know about some of the legendary events and stories indicated, but I did not know they all took place in a Nisan month.

A million-dollar question that I am not sure if anyone is ever able to answer accurately is: how exactly long is the time gap between the Rapture and the start of the Tribulation? If we would ever know, then we will have a much greater likelihood of knowing the exact month of the Rapture, but still never the exact day and hour. I do not know if it is a certain number of days, weeks, or months, but I do not think it matters too much anymore since we are close to that long-awaited moment.

Since we will have glorified bodies upon the Rapture, does this mean we will live through the Millennium Reign and beyond without ever fearing illness or death again? This surely is the gift of eternal life as Jesus mentioned in John 6:47! What is best is that we can go anywhere without fearing crime, chaos, and destruction, and interact with Brothers and Sisters in Christ who will never resent, hate, or judge anyone. Do you agree with this, Sister?

For now, we will be on high watch for the next 20 days and I also feel some major signs could occur given that April is a holy month. Hopefully we will be with the Lord before the increasing evil goes more notches higher.

Blessings Sister for your post and keep close to God!

    1. Yes, I don't think anyone knows for sure how long the gap might be between the Rapture and the start of the Tribulation. There is some Scriptural evidence for 6 months, as David, who was a type of Christ ruled from Hebron (a Gentile city) for 7 years and 6 months before he took over Jerusalem from the pretender, the rebel king, (a type of AC) and ruled from there. But who knows?
To answer your 2nd question, Yes! We will have our glorified bodies forever and ever! No more death or sickness, etc. We can even enjoy food, but we won't have to eat to live. It will be marvelous! Yes, we will be able to go into any situation, no matter how violent, and know we cannot be harmed or injured. And even better, as you said, no more hatred, jealousy, envy, criticism, bitterness, anger, etc.. will exist between us.
Definitely HIGH WATCH for the next 20 days! Blessings!
