Amen Sister ! I was reading through Hebrews 9: 14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who [a]by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent [b]divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?
Hebrews 10: 22 Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [a]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
I'll note the word " conscience" here.
I dont know about you, but I often beat myself up over mistakes, sin, questioning if I measure up. Look at all these holy people around me, surely they are going to Heaven in the rapture, but me ? I wonder.
For sure this is a trap of the enemy that we buy into. He likes to play on our consciences. But at the end of the day, do we really believe that God would love us, as much as them. Do we measure ourselves according to others, or do we believe what Jesus say's about us. What MaryLu say's here is exactly the way Jesus feels about all of us who believe, there is no difference.
Do we really believe that Jesus has set us free from a guilty conscience ? We need to lay hold of this.
You gotta love Peter who often just blurts out what ever is on his mind. He also compared himself to others. Maybe a bit envious, wondering if he measured up. But He is what Jesus said to him. John 21: Jesus and the Beloved Apostle 20Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to betray You?” 21When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 22Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!”…
be convinced of Christ's ability to save. Blessings
That is just beautiful- Vicky Oz.
