Amen Sister ! I was reading through Hebrews 9: 14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who [a]by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent [b]divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?
Hebrews 10: 22 Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [a]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
I'll note the word " conscience" here.
I dont know about you, but I often beat myself up over mistakes, sin, questioning if I measure up. Look at all these holy people around me, surely they are going to Heaven in the rapture, but me ? I wonder.
For sure this is a trap of the enemy that we buy into. He likes to play on our consciences. But at the end of the day, do we really believe that God would love us, as much as them. Do we measure ourselves according to others, or do we believe what Jesus say's about us. What MaryLu say's here is exactly the way Jesus feels about all of us who believe, there is no difference.
Do we really believe that Jesus has set us free from a guilty conscience ? We need to lay hold of this.
You gotta love Peter who often just blurts out what ever is on his mind. He also compared himself to others. Maybe a bit envious, wondering if he measured up. But He is what Jesus said to him. John 21: Jesus and the Beloved Apostle 20Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to betray You?” 21When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 22Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!”…

Ah yes, this is the beloved story from Luke 15:11-32. The important lesson from what I remember is that despite the younger son’s poor decisions, his father was still more than willing to accept him back even though his son left and engaged in reckless spending to the point of hunger before a famine. It relates to how God is the same: He is more than happy to forgive and bring us home if we simply admit our wrongdoings and maintain faith in Him.
It is natural for the older son to be upset due to his outlook on his father’s seeming favoritism, but his father was wise to justify that while his older son was always obedient and loyal, his younger son served as a prime example of repentance and loyalty. Amen to this parable!
Aside for some breaking news: I just read last night that the UN Conference for the two-state solution got postponed due to the Israel-Iran War last week. I am hoping it would not change our strong-held belief that the Tribulation and covenant signing is this year. I also hope that the Israel-Iran War did not simply happen to keep pushing back prophecy when God’s timing of every happening is perfect. What are your thoughts Sister?
Additionally, the news said this morning that Iran rejected Trump’s call for “unconditional surrender” and threatened serious disaster if the US gets involved. I am sure this threat has been made many times over the decades, but this time could this already foretell what the Bible predicted regarding escalation to inevitable war? We will see if the Gog-Magog war would take place due to this chain of events. Speaking of which, I once read that the timing of this war is a bit complicated to pinpoint, but some biblical scholars believe it may be before the Tribulation. They also brought up about a requirement of the Jews will spend seven years burning captured war weapons as stated in Ezekiel 39:9 along with the belief that the Rapture may happen anytime before, during, or after any prophetic wars. Could this be true?
Thanks Sister for the lovely parable. Would you post on the relationship between Ishmael and Issac and also Jacob and Esau? The picture reminds me of one where it is Jesus hugging a saved Believer in the clouds/Heaven with angels present. How we long for that day! Take care Sister and blessings from a Brother in Christ.
That is just beautiful- Vicky Oz.
