I recently finished the historical novel, In the Shadow of the Sun King, by Golden Keyes Parsons. I actually met this wonderful author at a recent ACFW conference and found her to be just as charming as her name.

Here's my quick review of the novel:

I love a good historical novel that completely draws me into the time period and combines historical details with adventure and romance. And this novel did not dissapoint. My eyes were opened to the horrific persecution endured by the Huegenots in 17th century France, a subject I knew little about. But I loved the action packed plot and the depth of the characters as Madeleine Clavell risks everything to save her husband and her family, even so far as to approach King Louis XIV and plead for their lives with a man who could order them all executed on a whim. You won't want to miss this novel!
