Win a copy of The Captain's Lady by Louise M. Gouge!!!

This week, I'm introduing my good friend and fantabulous author, Louise M. Gouge. She's graciously offered to give away a free copy of her latest release, The Captain's Lady, to one lucky person. Here's a bit more about Louise and about her book. (including my review!)

Torn between love and duty, American Patriot James Templeton must deny his heart to help win his country's freedom.

Captain James Templeton's orders from General Washington are clear. His target: Lord Bennington, a member of George III's Privy Council. The assignment: find Bennington's war plans. The risks: the future of the East Florida Colony, Jamie's life...and his heart. In spite of the dangers of their hopeless situation, he's fallen in love with Lady Marianne Moberly, Lord Bennington's daughter.

Desperate to protect his country, Jamie carries out his orders with a heavy heart. But Marianne's persistence is a challenge he never expected. With love and faith, they must navigate troubled waters to win their future together.

My Review:
Ms. Gouge's books just keep getting better and better. I absolutely adored this latest story of forbidden love. How can a lowly American ship captain ever hope to obtain the hand of a British Earl's daughter, especially when their two countries are at war? Set during the start of the American Revolution, this book has it all. Espionage, intrigue, romance, and adventure both on land and on sea. Complete with a happy ending that will leave you with a satisfied sigh. Louise Gouge's writing is like a fine wine: elegant, rich, flavorful and warming all over.

About Louise Gouge
Award-winning Florida author Louise M. Gouge writes historical fiction, calling her stories “threads of grace woven through time.” In addition to numerous other awards, Louise is the recipient of the prestigious Inspirational Readers’ Choice Award for her 2005 novel, Hannah Rose. With her great love of history and research, Louise loves to visit museums and travel to her stories’ settings to ensure accuracy. Her favorite Bible verse is “He shall choose our inheritance for us” (Psalm 47:4), a testimony to her belief that God has chosen a path for each believer. To seek that path and to trust His wisdom is to find the greatest happiness in life.

Louise has been married to David Gouge for 45 years. They have four grown children and six grandchildren. She earned her BA in English/Creative Writing at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and her Master of Liberal Studies degree at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Louise is also an adjunct professor of English and Humanities at Valencia Community College in Kissimmee, Florida.

If you'd like an opportunity to win this book, please leave a comment with your email address! I'll draw a name in 2 weeks on March 12th!

  24. Thank you for introducing us to more inspirational authors! This sounds like a lovely portrayal of one man's struggle between faith, duty and his own heart during the early days of the American Revolution. I look forward to learning more about Louise M. Gouge who I wasn't formerly familiar with.

    Thanks again!

  42. Tori: True story. When I was a girl, I vowed never to marry a man who was a redhead or who had a "funny" last name. Of course my husband is a redhead, and of course, Gouge is pretty funny. I won't go into the silly jokes told in the family. LOL. Louise

  44. That is so cute, you vowed not to marry a redhead. My sister said she was never going to date a redhead, sure enough she did. lol I think some redheads are cute.
That's funny, maybe it was God trying to teach you something. ;) lol. MaryLu writes about men that are dark haired with dark eyes. So perfectly dreamy and as one girl said, 'so hunkish'. lol. Is that what you wanted or a blondy? :)

  45. Well, Tori, after 45 years of wedded bliss (that is, mostly bliss), I can't even remember what I found attractive before. All I know is that my dear hubby is the best looking man in the world to me. So I guess I did learn a lesson, as you said. LOL! Louise

  49. I'm delighted with the cover art on my book. You get the feeling of all the drama within the story just by seeing the lady and gentleman in front of the enormous manor house. I'm hoping people will be drawn to this book just because of the cover, and then be intrigued by the back cover copy.
Thank you, everyone, for your interest! Louise.
