Disneyland and quote from forefathers

Hubby and I had a great time at Disney. Who wouldn't? Trouble is, we were having so much fun, we forgot to take alot of pictures. But here are a few.

Jungle cruise!

Me in front of Columbia, the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe

Indiana Jones temple of the evil eye!

Me with my pirate hat in front of what else but the Pirates of the Caribbean ride!

My adventurous hubby!

Me about to set sail on board the Columbia!

I'm in heaven!

And now for our Friday quote. This one is from John Dickinson one of the signers of the Constitution and the governor of Pennsylvania.

Kings or Parliaments could not give the rights essential to happiness. . .We claim them from a higher source. From the King of Kings and Lord of all the earth. They are not annexed to us by parchments and seals. They are created in us by decrees of Providence, which establish the laws of our nature. They are born with us; exist with us; and cannot be taken from us by any human power without taking our lives. In short, they are founded on the immutable maxims of reason and justice. It would be an insult on the Divine Majesty to say that He has given or allowed any man or body of men a right to make me miserable.

  1. Fri Oct 29th,
    Morning, MaryLu.
Just loved your pictures !!! You and your husband 'both', looked like you were having so much fun ! Way to go ! And, you finally got to sail on a "tall ship" ... neat expeience, huh ? Bet your mind was just constantly buzzing with ideas, and, rememberances ... from your previous novels; and, that you could "visualize" your actual characters roaming about the ship, and, being called 'to action' !!! How neat for you !!! (Ahhhh, I "think" at some point and time once again .... we'll be hearing more pirate stories from you still ...) Thanks for sharing your pic's with us all, MaryLu. You must have been 'so excited' to be a part of it all !
As to the quote from 'John Dickinson' ... one of the signers of the Constitution and the Governor of Pennsylvania ... all I can say to what he said, is: "Amen" !!! He acknowledged God, for Who He is ... that is so awesome ! That "all" men and women in governmental/parliamentary positions would be men and women of God, and, take their direction, leadership and guidance from The Almighty !!! Wow ... could our World sure benefit from that !!!
    Thanks again, for sharing.
    Take care, and, God Bless,
    In Him, Brenda Hurley

  2. That quote is AWESOME!!! It just says it so openly - I'm definitely going to copy that down!

I had no idea that you could sail on a ship in Disneyland - now I'll have to try to make it there someday! :-)

I agree with Sapphire, I didn't know there was an actual ship you could board at Disneyland! Now, I want to go! I love the pics, MaryLu, you and your husband look so relaxed in them. Great quote, too, keep them coming. Have a great day. (and Norman seems to be doing ok today, thanks again for your prayers)

  4. Thanks ladies! We had fun. I had forgotten about the tall ship. It's only a replica, but extremely cool. You can go below too and see all the officer's and sailors quarters. They don't actually sail the ship, sigh. No raising of the sails. But it was fun anyway.
Great quote, huh? I'll keep looking for others...
    Have a great weekend!

I wouldn't care if it sailed. Just being able to walk about the ship and go below would be cool. I could close my eyes and pretend that I am out on the high seas with my Cap'n Jack! lol I am going to have to talk my sisters into taking a 'sister's vacation' there again.

  7. That trip must have been a blast! The jungle cruise looks beautiful and that hippo looks scary. :) I would absolutely love to have been you; getting to be aboard the Columbia ship, I would be in heaven too! :) I would definitely go on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and go into the Indiana Jones temple. I want to go there now, also I want to read one of your books. That's so funny that I always feel like rereading your books when I see pictures from your blog. When do we get to see the picture of the third book? I cant wait for it...well first I cant wait for the second book! :)

    Have a great day!

My sisters and I have been there a couple of times and we went on the Pirates ride and Indy ride more than once....adding a real ship to the mix would be great! Time to start saving. lol

  10. Haha! I love your pictures. I heard that the movie Pirates of the Caribbean was based off of the ride. Hmmm...I wonder...
You looked like you had a lot of fun. I think we all need a day where we can have fun like that and not think of all the things that worry us. Why? Because when we get back to the "real world" the problems that we face don't seem as bad as it once did.
