Wed Oct 27th, Good morning, MaryLu. "Wow" ... how classy and state-of-the-art is that !!! What "exactly is" a 'Wardroom', MaryLu ??? I can see a large table with chairs,and flasks, and, a display case ... is it some sort of 'meeting or boardroom' ? Whatever it is .... very nice !!! Take care, and, God Bless, In Him, Brenda Hurley
I agree with Brenda; this does look state-of-the-art. I wonder, did any of the ships back then really looked like this, or if this is just an exhibit? Either way, it looks really cool!
P.S. Finished the book! As always, you spun a great tale with gold strands of the gospel weaving in and out-I loved it! I can't wait for the next one to come out.
Hi ladies! The wardroom is the place where the admiral or captain and his officers dined. On this particular ship, which carried an Admiral. (Most didn't), it was a very fancy room. Yes, this is the way it actually looked. The British were very into appearances and pomp and polish, you know. The Victory was a Huge ship. Not at all like the ships I write about. Have a great day!
Good pic, MaryLu, keep them coming. Maybe you can find a good shot of the crow's nest one of these Wednesdays. The weather here is so nice now, cool and crisp. We had some rain and it should rain again this week, but for now........nice. God bless and *hugs*.
Wow this is so cool! I can never really picture what the captains cabin looks like, I think I need a drawn diagram. :) This is much bigger than I picture it, but still so awesome!
I'll look for a picture of a crow's nest, Debbie, And Tori, this is the Admiral's cabin. A much bigger room than a normal Captain's cabin. This is on a flag ship, which was a ship that carried the Admiral of the Fleet.
Wow, that is REALLY formal - I'm more used to visualizing the worn, double-duty dining room/meeting room like in the movie "Master and Commander." I must say, the one in this picture seems a lot nicer - especially with it being right at the stern (I'm assuming, because of the windows) :-) I'd love to go see this in person some day...but I don't think I'll ever make it all the way to England!
