Cover Reveal and a new addition to my family!
I want to thank you all for your comments and opinions on the mock covers I showed you a few weeks ago. I tallied all your votes, both here and on Facebook, took your comments into consideration and ended up with Mock 2 as the best choice. My cover designer went right to work, perfecting it and here is the final version. In case you forgot the storyline, I'm posting it below the picture. (if you missed the mock covers, you can see them here )
Alexia D'Clere didn't ask to be Protector of the Spear, but after her dying mother gave her the tiny metal object and made her promise to keep it safe, she had no choice. Orphaned at age 9, she began to take over the running of her parent's castle with the help of a trusted steward. Yet, when a plot to murder her was revealed, a friar whisked her away to live hidden in the forest. There, she learned to shoot expertly with bow and arrow and hone her skills to see into the spirit realm.
Now, at 18, she continues to keep the spear protected, provide meat for the starving village, while secretly caring for her ill sister who still lives in the castle. With Alexia's powers of spiritual discernment and her skill as an archer, she is no match for those who come for the spear. That is until she meets Ronar LePeine, one of the King's elite guard.
Ronar desires nothing more than to do his duty to God and King and pay penance for his past sins. Yet a forest sprite with red, flaming hair blocks his every move, all the while enchanting him like no other. Something evil lurks at Castle Luxley, and both Ronar and Alexia are soon thrust into the middle of a spiritual battle which will not only test their very beliefs, but put them both in mortal danger.

Although this wasn't my first choice, I like this mock-up SO much better than the one with the white crochet top she had on, and her hair looks much fuller. Can't wait to read it. Congratulations on the newest addtion to your family...love her name! Happy to hear both mother and baby are doing well.
ReplyDeleteThe new book looks and sounds awesome! I can't wait to read it. And congratulations on the new grandbaby

ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for sharing my joy on both counts.. the cover and my new grandbaby! I spent the night at the hospital to help out with the feeding and changing and although I didn't get any sleep, I wouldn't trade the time for anything! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteComp 2 was my choice. I loved the way her hair was kept out of her eyes with the cord around her forehead. I do like the change of her top as the colors will bend in with the foliage. I do like the addition of a spear tip tattooed on her wrists. Looking forward to another beautiful novel from you! This is going to be difficult waiting but I know it will be worth it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Ava 's safe arrival and praying for your daughters recovery. Don't you just love grandchildren!
And don't you love how God gives us that special blessing of loving the children of our children 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Congrats to you, your daughter and family - MaryLu, so excited for all of you!! Love the name Ava Lauren and know she is even more beautiful than her name. Does she have lots of beautiful hair as her sister does??
