Happy Forth of July, America!
Happy Forth, everyone! I pray you and your families have a fun day celebrating our great nation! Do not forget the hundreds of thousands of men and women who died so we can live free.
It saddens me a great deal to see the current corruption in our government, the lies, the spying, the attempt to alter our democratic election. It breaks my heart to see socialists running for office (and winning) and the masses of people completely ignorant of our constitution, of how our republic works, of the reasons why our forefathers set it up this way. It grieves me to see a press that is no longer free, but biased and full of lies to further one party's agenda. It grieves me to see fellow Americans rioting and so full of hate just due to opposing viewpoints. What has happened to us? Oh yeah, we shoved God out of our country.
Yes, our nation has made mistakes. What nation hasn't? The point is to learn from those mistakes and move forward. Yet for all our faults, there's not one of us Americans who has ever lived without freedom. We take it for granted and have no idea what it would be like to live without all the freedoms we enjoy. Yet so many are willing to toss it away for free stuff... to hand over their rights to a dictatorial government that promises them food, jobs, housing and healthcare, but who, in the end, will rule over them with unbridled power and corruption.
They are not teaching our children the constitution in schools anymore. They are not teaching them our true history. Instead they are fostering hate by labeling our forefathers as racists and bigots, thus dismissing their ideas and the good they did. Parents, please learn our history and teach it to your children. Explain why we have a right to bear arms and a right to free speech and a right to not have our homes and person searched without cause, a right to privacy, and a right to worship God as we choose. A right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness without governmental interference. Explain what socialism and communism are and how many millions of people have died under those forms of government. An ignorant population is easily deceived.
And most of all pray for our country and for our president. God Bless America!
I'd thought I'd end with some great quotes from a few of our founding fathers
“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” Benjamin Franklin
“Those that can give up essential liberty to gain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin
“You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve YOUR freedom. I hope you will make a good use of it.” John Adams
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” Samuel Adams
“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.” Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare Beccaria
What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”
– Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, December 20, 1787

DeleteHappy 4th of July to you and your family! Words once again to ponder and agree with you on so many things ! They say History repeats itself and I pray they are wrong! We are a country that is divided in all things. God- marriage- morals- compassion - loyalty - tolerance -- education-- and I could go on and on. But we know that things are now topsy turvy and what is bad is now good. And if it is good -- watch out because you will be ostracized And if it is evil and bad and un-Godly then it is hailed as good ! I pray for our country, our President, our moral upbringing for our children and for an awakening for all who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior ! May God fill us to be a witness for Him. A light in the darkness ! I pray this not only for today but for every day. There is hope and His Name Is Jesus Christ! Bring that Hope and Light of Christ with us always !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Elsie!
