What A Friend We Have!

 Saints, I'm weary. I know many of you are too. I don't like posting such bad news all the time on Fridays. The last thing I want to do is cause fear among the Body of Christ. I merely want to show you how close we are to the Lord's return! I mean it for encouragement and to instill hope and joy. Personally, I always love seeing how all the things written thousands of years ago in the Scriptures are coming true today! If that doesn't increase our faith, what will?  Anyway, I know many of you are suffering with various struggles and trials, as I am. As I was praying about what to post on Monday by way of encouragement, this old song kept popping into my mind. I haven't heard this song since I was a kid attending a Presbyterian church my Mom took us to for a few years. Why is it in my head all of a sudden? The Lord told me to look up the lyrics. So, I'm posting them below. They truly are powerful. I hope they bless you as much as they blessed me. And don't forget to pay attention to the last sentence!!

 What a friend we have in Jesus,
    All our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
    Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
    Oh, what needless pain we bear,
    All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
    Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged—
    Take it to the Lord in prayer.
    Can we find a friend so faithful,
    Who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness;
    Take it to the Lord in prayer.
    Are we weak and heavy-laden,
    Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge—
    Take it to the Lord in prayer.
    Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
    Take it to the Lord in prayer!
    In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
    Thou wilt find a solace there.
    Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
    Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
    May we ever, Lord, be bringing
    All to Thee in earnest prayer.
    Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
    There will be no need for prayer—
    Rapture, praise, and endless worship
    Will be our sweet portion there.

  1. Thank you for sharing this Marylu. I remember it from Sunday school when I was a kid. Good timing too since things are getting worse it's hard to remember that we are protected by God's word. Bless you Marylu and thanks for all you do. Pam

    1. Thank you, Pam! I believe the closer we get to the Tribulation, the more demons and other demonic creatures are being unleashed. It's very important we remember and believe that God watches over His children! And we need also to remember how powerful we are and how demons tremble when they see a Holy-Spirit filled true follower of Jesus! Blessings
