Too often we forget that as long as we are here on Earth, we are soldiers in God's Army! Now, coming from a woman who has never served in the armed forces, it's easy for me to set that aside. Especially since I don't see any physical threats (YET). But if only God would open our eyes to the Spiritual battle raging around us, I believe many of us would take our military role much more seriously. In truth, it's easy to explain away all our struggles, heartaches, and difficulties as something physical, but my bet is that 90% of the trials that afflict many believers are spiritual in nature, attacks from the enemy.
Take your share of the hardships and suffering, which you are called to endure as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of civilian life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him. 2 Timothy 2:3-4
Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
Here is a poem I recently found by an unknown author. I suggest you read it out loud as a declaration of who you are in God's Army! I pray it empowers and blesses you!
I AM A SOLDIER (unknown author)
I am a soldier in the army of my God.
The Lord Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer.
The Holy Scripture is my code of conduct.
Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare.
I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire.
I am a volunteer in this army and I am enlisted for eternity.
I will not get out, sell out, be talked out, or pushed out.
I am faithful, reliable, capable, and dependable.
If my God needs me, I am there. I am a soldier.
I am not a baby.
I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up, or pepped up.
I am a soldier.
No one has to call me, remind me, write me, visit me, entice me or lure me.
I am a soldier.
I am not a wimp.
I am in place saluting my King,
obeying His orders, praising His name and building His kingdom.
No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards or candy, or give me handouts.
I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for or catered to.
I am committed.
I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn me around.
I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside.
I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit.
When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing, I will still come out ahead.
I will win.
My God has and will continue to supply all of my need.
I am more than a conqueror.
I will always triumph.
I can do all things through Christ.
The devil cannot defeat me.
People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me.
Sickness cannot stop me.
Battles cannot beat me.
Money cannot buy me. Governments cannot silence me, and hell cannot handle me.
I am a soldier.
Even death cannot destroy me.
For when my Commander calls me from His battlefield, He will promote me to captain and then allow me to rule with Him.
I am a soldier in the army, and I’m marching claiming victory.
I will not give up.
I will not turn around.
I am a soldier, marching Heaven bound.
Here I Stand! Will you stand with me?

Wow and totally true. Thanks for sharing that Marylu. May those words ring true for all who read them. God bless you. Pam
ReplyDeleteAmen! It's a good idea to repeat these out loud every once and a while too.
DeleteGreetings Precious Scribe to the King of Heavens Armies !
ReplyDeleteHallelujah ! Perfect to write this on inauguration day, for we know who our Commander and Chief is, The Lord God Almighty, Lord of lords, and King of kings ! All glory and honor are His forever and ever.
Love the 2 Tim 2, our goal is to satisfy our God, our King.
And Eph, love the next verse 14, and after you have done everything, to STAND !
I used to have asmy profile pic, David standing over Goliath, one foot on his chest, sword in one hand, Goliaths head in the other, face set like flint and looking up to heaven.
The poem is incredible, I will most definitely frame it on my wall.
Now this is the way to use the term, "I am". This is one of the battles I am suiting up for. Something I have been studying that is spreading through the church like wild fire. They use this term "I AM" to 'declare' that they are gods, they have the same divinty as God etc.
And this poem gives me another spiritual weapon.
Blessings to you my fellow comrade in His Majesty's Army.
Blessings brother! I didn't even consider the fake inauguration happening when I posted this poem, but it is so apropos! There is no king but Jesus!! And I am not only His child, but I'm in His army! Thanks for finding the author's name, too! Blessings!
DeleteI did find the authors name; Nora Eason
