One More Day to Serve the Lord, One Less Day Here On Earth!

That's what I tell myself every morning when I get out of bed. I also say "Lord, this could be the day that I meet you face to face!"  How exciting is that?  You see, based on everything going on around me, the signs, the prophecies coming true before my eyes, the sense of the nearness of the Rapture, I am living my life one day at a time. I'm trying not to look too far ahead or plan too far ahead, except where necessary. Why? Because any minute now, I'm going to hear that trumpet blast and Jesus call my name. Yes, I believe each one of us will hear the Lord call us specifically by name!

But you've been telling us the rapture is close for years now, MaryLu!
Yes!  But think of how much closer we are now! Besides, if you follow this blog you know the current prophetic signs are off the charts!

Let's take a glimpse of how the Apostle Paul describes our NEW Bodies after the rapture. (1 Corinthians 15: 42-44)

Before the Rapture/Resurrection      After
Perishable/Decay                                 Immortal, never decays or gets old
Dishonor/Humiliation                            Honor and Glory
Infirmity/Weakness                              Strength and Power
Physical/Natural                                   Spiritual/Supernatural

We also know from other Scriptures that we will be able to walk through walls, transport ourselves to any place we want, eat food, remember everything in our prior lives, including our family, etc. That's what Jesus was able to do after His resurrection and the Bible says we will be just like Him.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed, transformed.
For this perishable must put on the imperishable and this mortal must put on immortality. And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up unto victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? (1 Corinthians 15:52-55)

This WILL Happen!  And it's going to happen soon, sooner than you can imagine. So, anything you are going through right now doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is how your struggles make you more like Jesus and glorify Him. Because when you stand before Him at the judgement seat, everything that you did for yourself and your own glory will burn up, but everything you did for the Lord in love and obedience to Him will remain. And you will receive great rewards for those things.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm, steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].  Verse 58

Notice how it says, Doing more than enough! You might think that you don't have an opportunity to do anything for the Lord. Maybe you aren't around other people very much. Maybe you have an illness that keeps you home. Maybe you are around people at work and you've tried to witness to them but it seems to go nowhere. Maybe you're just so busy with kids, job, house and marriage that you barely have time to sleep. Maybe you've already witnessed to all your family and friends, and they don't want to listen anymore. Perhaps you don't think you have many gifts or talents God can use. I'm here to tell you, the Lord does not make junk. He gives each of us special talents that are unique to us and our personalities. Ask Him what yours are and then ask Him how you can use them for His glory!

I think too often we compare ourselves with people who are doing GREAT things for the Lord (or at least it seems that way to us). Don't do that!  The person in the kitchen at church who cooks for the homeless is just as important as the pastor on the stage getting all the attention. In some cases, the Lord may honor them more because of their selfless humility!  The person who spends hours in prayer and fasting for the lost will receive far more rewards than someone who has the gift of healing but does it for his own glory.

Jesus told us that in the Kingdom, the last would be first and the first last. So, just allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and be obedient. The days are short. If all you are led to do is pray, then pray with all your heart. If all you are led to do is worship, then do it with gusto! If you are led to talk to a neighbor or friend, ask God for the words and do it. If you are led to pass out tracks, do it with a smile. Whatever you do, in word or deed, do to the glory of God.

Love God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as yourself. Forgive all who have hurt you. Immediately repent of all sin, and put nothing ahead of Jesus in your heart.

You won't regret it. You (nor I) have any idea the endless wonders that await us in eternity. I promise you, it will be worth it!
